I am selling a 1990 Ford Ranger XLT with 90,300 1-owner miles. AutoCheck verifies one owner and mileage. Clear title with one minor rear-end impact in accident history reported. THE GOOD: New Starter and battery. Recent clutch. Clean interior. Has QUALITY bedliner installed that is in great shape. No rust. South Carolina vehicle all its life. Has 17 x 8 inch wheels in very good condition with good tires. Has 8 plug cylinder head. Includes replacement motor - 1986 2.3L 4 cyl engine. THE BAD: Needs engine swap or stock motor needs complete rebuild. I was told a family member borrowed the truck and ran it without oil. My mechanic said the bottom end is bad due to the loud CLACKING noise. Sounds like a diesel. It will start but my mechanic said not to until it is torn down and rebuilt. Or engine is swapped. The extra engine, I was told, had 133k miles on it and ran when it was removed from a Ranger, but needs a head gasket. A great work truck, worth the effort to repair. These get great gas mileage.
