I am offering for sale a 1985 MAZDA RX-7 GS. The car has 180000 on the odo but about half that on the motor and transmission. The car is in good condition considering it's age but it is not perfect. First I will cover the problems that I am aware of because I want you to know everything about the car. (That way there are no suprises for anyone) The car starts, runs and drives good but it does have a hesitation at about 2500 rpm if you ease into the throttle. The problem is in a very narrow rpm band. It has done this almost as long as I have owned the car and I never tried to fix the problem. If you accelerate hard or tap the throttle between shifts, the car doesn't hesitate The car has a dent in the rear that can be seen in the pictures (backed into the hitch on my truck). I have the replacement trim and it will be included with the car. The clear coat is failing on the back of the car as can also be seen in the pictures. Some of the interior carpet on the door panals needs to be reglued. (3M spray adhesive works great for this, and it is very easy to do). There are no storage boxes behind the seat. They were removed by the previous owner and I did not get them from him. He was actually preparing the car to race when I bought it which is also why the motor and trans were rebuilt. The last of the problems is a exhaust leak between the header and presilencer. (It needs a new gasket) NOW what you are getting: This car is a 5 speed manual transmission, 1.1Liter rotary engine with a lot of add on aftermarket equipment. I replaced the original rear end with a rear end from a GSL so this car is now 4 wheel disc brake. I installed a new clutch slave cylinder and clutch hose a few months ago. Here is a list a of the other installed extras: RACING BEAT INTAKE, HOLLEY 425cfm carb by RACING BEAT, RACING BEAT STAINLESS HEADER, PRESILENCER AND MUFFLER. RACING BEAT AIR FILTER HOUSING, RACING BEAT ALUMINUM DUAL PULLEYS(alt. and main), MAZDATRIX SHORT THROW SHIFTER, MSD SCI IGNITION, 2 ACCEL COILS(chrome). The car has a Kenwood CD player with remote. There is also a 10 disc CD changer in the car with remote . If you have any questions about the car please ask. Thisi car is LOCAL PICK UP ONLY. I WILL NOT SHIP THIS CAR. There is a required $200 deposit within 24 hours of the auction close. The balance will be due (CASH) when the car is picked up. The car needs to be picked up within 7 days of the close of the auction. If you are going to need more time than that please contact me PRIOR TO BIDDING and we can arrange something. This car is in drivable condition and should not be a problem to drive home. I am selling this car because I have no room to keep it. We bought a RX-8 in Dec. which brought us to a total of 7 vehicles.(4 of which are RX-7's) I need the space in the drivway more than we need the car. My wife drove this car everyday for the past year until she got the RX-8. It has been a good, dependable car.
