Vehicle Detail

“UNBELIEVABLE / SUPER BAD” 1969 FORD MUSCLE CAR MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE WITH AN ATTITUDE {66,000 actual miles} DROP DEAD GORGEOUS! Many words can be used to describe just how much of a fun car this Mustang is to own & drive! However, it is truly hard to figure out just where to begin. Being a classic car enthusiast and a “Mustang Nut” in particular I am very pleased and also sadden to list this pony for sale. I am more than positive that the potential new owner will be more than happy with it. I believe that it is probably one of the nicest 1969 rag tops left in existence! It truly must be seen & driven to be appreciated! Well I will state the obvious first. This vintage pony is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS! To call this car a traffic stopper would almost be an insult. Each and every time that you pull this wonderful Blue Oval out of the garage jaws drop! Just try to make it a city block without someone giving you the thumbs up. That same excitement is shown by the way of comments that most people make {some rather loudly}! If you are bashful or don’t like the idea complete strangers approaching you randomly “this may not be the car for you”! The beautiful factory 1969 {T-Code} Candy Apple Red finish is simply blinding! The paint maintains a high gloss shine that encourages everyone to admire it! This car has only been repainted once. A very experienced semi retired classic car enthusiast applied the paint. He only works on vehicles that he himself is interested in. All jobs are performed at a well spoken of reputable body shop. This particular shop mainly restores nice antique, sports and classic cars. The exterior color is not the only highlight of this antique vehicle. It also has a beautiful laser straight body! This is not another case of one searching for & then finding a dream car just to have that dream ruined by purchasing one with a bad foundation. No ….this Mustang spent its entire life in Oregon {until being brought to the Mid West a short time ago}. The body panels are very uniform and most certainly rust free. “HARD TO FIND ORIGINAL BODY PANELS”! When you hit the road with this pony you will be happy to do so. You will most certainly be the envy of everyone! I have owned several classic Mustangs previously however; this one seems to truly play to all crowds. The interest that this car receives transcends age and gender. One day a group of teens will exclaim “Sweet ride Mr.” & the next a senior will state “That’s a BEAUTIFUL Mustang! My husband had one just like it”. Regardless this pony makes you feel good each and every time you sit behind the wheel! The brilliant bright white power canvas convertible top was recently replaced with a superior custom top. This top seals tight & looks great! It is highly recommended by J. Higgins of the Mustang Club of America. The chrome appointments along the exterior of the car are in stellar condition as well! The N.O.S bumpers are brand spank new along with new bumper bolts. They present the perfect picture from every angle. The header bow, tail light bezels and convertible top moldings are in excellent shape. 1969 convertible top moldings are made of pot metal & they are usually pitted / rusted. They are not reproduced so you won’t find them for sale. That being said there is nothing to worry about with the moldings on this car. They are in excellent condition! The windshield and the remainder of the exterior glass is damage free and in great shape {no excessive scratches}. Whether the top is up or down this Mustang is ready for center stage! That stage can be your local car show, garage or route 66! Now that I have given some insight about the cars exterior presence & beauty I will speak a bit about the interior. The factory {2D} red interior is in excellent condition! Upon first blush you will find that the seat upholstery in front and back is absolutely gorgeous. They are a bit darker than your standard red seat covers. The aged color look has probably come from the car being stored for a while. These are believed to be the original seat covers. They aren’t worn or damaged at all and they still look great. The seats were removed so that the seat tracks could be cleaned for easy operation. Almost every detail has addressed in regards to this cars current condition. The door panels and interior trim rings are also brand new. At just about every turn inside you find that this Mustang exemplifies quality. There is a brand new Mustang stereo that has been just installed as well. Now that I have given several reasons why everyone absolutely seems to LOVE this pony I will discuss why every Chevy guy truly hates it! The heart and soul of this horse is its STOUT built NEW CRATE 351 Cleveland engine backed up by a NEW bullet proof World Class T-5 TKO five speed Ford Racing transmission with NEW Hurst shifter! There has been over $14,000 spent on the motor & transmission alone!!! All you have to do is start this Mustang to know that she means business. I mean this pony will not only rock your world “it will shake your garage”! I have been to plenty of classic Ford car shows & shoot outs. I can tell you sincerely that I never heard any pony that sounds as good as this one EVER! This car seriously sounds incredibly healthy! A good friend of mine owns a 1969 Mach 1 {428 car} and he is in awe every time that this stallion is fired up! The second owner spent over $8k alone on a Ford Motor Company crate engine. After he installed the motor he began to improve upon it. This car was built to perform! I am a bit of an older gentleman and really don’t care to race, however it is nice to have the power option on tap. This baby will bark the tires in every gear! As previously stated this isn’t your standard 351 4V block {it’s a D0AE block}. If you are a girly man you may want to get your wife’s permission before you bid on this car. You won’t be able to sneak out to play with the boys while trying to ease out of the driveway. One twist on the key & boom you’re grounded {she’ll hear ya}! That being said it is a bit of a sleeper. As a matter of fact you can simply cruise it at 50-60 mph if you like. Just keep in mind that this one was born to run! The car is seriously very user friendly. However the bow tie boys will be in for a challenge if you so desire to take someone to school. I found out just how special that this car was when I took it to Matt Johnsons Performance {a Saint Louis Muscle car & street Rods machine shop}. This particular gentleman has sponsored many races at Gate Way International Race Way in Granite City Illinois {the track recently closed}. Mr. Johnson was highly sought after and known by just about all muscle car enthusiasts in the Midwest. To make a long story short he claimed to know the history of the vehicle and actually performed some of the work on it. The car was brought his shop in 2010. He recalled the one and only time that the vehicle was placed on his Dyno machine. He told me how superior the horse power & torque ratings were when compared with his employees coveted 68 Camaro with a built 396 engine. He said that it also best a Gran Torino with a 429 block. After it impressed him so they began to investigate just what other hardware the car possessed. At any rate I was told that some of the internal hardware consisted of: · 4.125" bore capacity, finished at 3.990" to 3.995" rough bore · 9.5" deck height, finished at 9.500" plus .010" to .015" · 4.250 stroke with Keith Black crankshaft/connecting rods · Splayed 4-bolt main · 2.749" main journal diameter · Machined to accept factory roller lifter guides and lifter guide retainer · Revised oiling and cooling system passageways · Siamese bore with drilled coolant crossover · Alumnium bulkhead . 519 gross valve lift . 006 valve timing opening . 3010 lobe lift . 110.0 valve separation This classic pony also has competition push rods, rockers & polished crankshaft! The deck has been blocked as well {plenty of receipts included}. There is to much more to list in regards to drive train. This vehicle is very dependable and a thrill to drive! Once again there is nothing to fear as the car is very user friendly, but there is no ambiguity involved “it’s a muscle car”! You can also expect hassle free starts thanks to newly installed: HEI Pro Comp Distributor Flame Ignitor electronic ignition Comp. Alternator harness Alternator Battery Battery cable ends Flame Thrower ignition coil Ignition switch Solenoid switch Starter Too much more to list! JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING UNDERNEATH THIS PONY IS NEW ALSO! Too much to list please see the attached photos. There has been countless hours spent on the most minute details! MUST SEE TO APPRECIATE! This car is just as reliable as it is gorgeous! Great strides were made to ensure that every T was crossed & I dotted so the owner could cruise with confidence. There has even been a $742.00 Painless Wiring Chassis Harness installed! The interior & exterior illumination shines brightly {better than they did new}! Sitting a top this amazing block is an Edelbrock 750 CFM carburetor with a performance intake! The fuel is supplied by a Summit Racing electronic fuel pump. The car has disc brakes in front with fairly new pads & non asbestos brake shoes. It also has new wheel cylinders, brake hardware kits, backing plates, hoses etc. Finally keeping the hot machine cool is a high performance four core radiator with all new {Flowkooler} 180 degrees thermostat and Victor series water pump! Go ahead drive her out of town! She’s beyond road worthy! The nostalgic growl that comes from the Mustang comes by aid of new 40 series Flow Master Performance mufflers. This pony sounds AWESOME! Helping to bring the noise are a custom chambered dual exhaust system & cast coated Mustang performance headers. Here you have the total package. A classic Ford Mustang that sounds & looks incredible! Authentic yet fairly new 15x8 Magnum 500’s and wide track BFG performance radial tires provide good handling & gives this 69 an extra aggressive look! It would be a crime not to mention this vehicles super rust free underbody. The car is an original West Coast vehicle. The floors, torque boxes & frame rails are above reproach! The structural integrity of this car has to be seen to truly be appreciated. I believe anyone would be hard pressed to find another more rock solid & rust free. ORIGNAL FLOORS, TORQUE BOXES, FRAME RAILS, DROP OFFS, QUARTERS, ETC! This is an investment grade classic car that will only continue to appreciate! Factory manual & car cover included. This Mustang will not be given away! As my mom used to tell me “you get what you pay for”. Well in this case you get more than you pay for. The preservation, restoration and quality time spent on this car can’t be measured. It would be an insult to call this car a head turner! You simply can’t pull this car out of the garage with drawing a crowd! Everyone loves it! The few friends whom I told that I would be placing the car for sale this weekend called me crazy! Please feel free to call or ask any questions. No time to play games! All inspections welcome. You bid you buy. This is one of the nicest 1969 Mustang convertibles that you will come across. I am looking to get $37k or so for this beautiful Mustang {reasonable offers will be entertained}. There is a litany of receipts & a factoty owners manual included. Zero feedback bidders please contact me before bidding. Bidders with more than two negative transactions contact me first as well. There is an immediate $1000 deposit due by the end of the auction. Keep the hobby alive & God Bless America! {314} 497-9470 On Feb-07-12 at 11:55:00 PST, seller added the following information: CHECK OUT THE ATTACHED VIDEO TO HEAR THIS PONY ROAR! http://youtu.be/CJv6ZTvBAdo
