Vehicle Detail
1957 Chevrolet V-8 Bel Air Convertible Door Pillar #: VC57L1810-- Engine#: ---317FD This nicely restored car was built and grew up in Los Angeles. It remained in CA most of its life. It was sold to a Southern car collector and underwent a $100K+ restoration. It remained with this private collection until I purchased it in 2003 as part of a 10 car sale to make room for another passion. I purchased this car to drive and enjoy—but as life and business have dominated my life—it has spent to much time in its heated hanger in Colorado. Due to a new business venture I must say goodbye to this immaculate car with over $110K invested to this point (I have set a very realistic reserve SIGNIFICANTLY less than my investment). This car was in exceptional original rust free condition showing 60K+ miles when it was restored. The speedometer has been rebuilt and was reset to “0” at the time of restoration and now shows 2K miles. The original 245HP/283 (hydraulic lifters) came with factory “Dual Quad” setup, power steering and power-glide. Please note by the ending suffix of the motor# “FD”, this was originally a dual quad car. While the original dual point distributor is included in the sale (110891/7J26)—a later Chevy, converted internally to electronic, is installed and also included. Accessories include a “Wonderbar Radio”, electric wipers, spinner caps, fender skirts, power top and full continental kit. There is also an under-dash tissue dispenser (not shown in photo). As this was a California built car, it features the “1 piece” factory front bumper and CA frame. This car was truly a “no rust” and “non wrecked” nice original prior to restoration & special attention was given to the use of “NOS” parts and superior restoration supplies. You can see in the photos that it wears well the stock color combo of “Sierra Gold & Adobe Beige”. Recently the entire brake system has been rebuilt including: new correct master cylinder (not in photo), all new wheel cylinders, hoses and shoes. Entire system was cleaned and flushed. This wonderful 57 deserves a new home and needs to be enjoyed. I will help in any way needed with organization of the shipping, which will be at new owner’s expense. Thanks for looking! More photos will be taken and provided upon request. Please ask questions thru Ebay and leave your phone# if you would like a return call in person. A deposit of $2000 will be required within 48hrs of auction end thru PayPal. The car is to be picked up or shipped within 10 days of purchase. Cashiers check or cash is the preferred payment method for the auction. Only domestic (from USA) bids will be allowed. The car has a “clear” lien free Colorado title. The pillar and engine #'s are listed incomplete for seller protection and will be disclosed privately. This car is for sale locally and by other venues. It is possible the car could sell prior to the end of the auction. Please bear this in mind.
