This is a great everyday car and so much fun to drive to the beach! I purchased from the original owner in 1996. The original owner had only driven it a few months before having an overseas job transfer and had to sell. It's had regular oil changes throughout the time I've owned it and no major mechanical issues. Of couse, most 17 year old vehicles are showing their age and here are issues known to me: The air conditioning does not get cold and the climate control air blower motor works in high position only. Since I mostly have driven with the top down in the summer, I haven't found the need to address the air conditioning issue. The interior door handle on the driver's side is weak. It works, but it's flimsy plastic and must be pulled very gently to open the door. The paint on the hood is starting to discolor. The striping on the front bumper is starting to chip away. The windshield wiper arms are a little rusted, but work fine. The windshield wiper fluid hose needs repair or replacing (it's a little plastic tube that runs from the reservoir to the squirters). The radio and speakers work, but the cassette player does not work. The plastic volume knob on the radio is loose, so I removed it (but still have it) and just use the metal post to adjust the volume. BRAND NEW TOP INCLUDED! The original top was replaced in July 2006. Then, the back vinyl window was vandalized and replaced with a window from a brand new top purchased October 2009. The rest of the new top purchased in 2009 is still in a box never used and will be included in the sale (approx. $450 value). So, in effect, you will be getting 2 replacement tops - the one purchased in 2006, which is currently on the car, and another one brand new in box purchased in 2009 (minus rear window which has been installed on car. A spare tire cover is also included. Tires are different manufacturers but all same size and are in good condition with lots of life left. Front seats have always been covered with seatcovers, so they are in good condition. Back seats have almost always been folded down and rarely used for seating. Manual transmission has always shifted smoothly and clutch feels good. Front brakes were replaced, but I don't remember exactly when. My best guess is that it was at approximately 100,000 miles. 4WD has hardly ever been used, but it did work fine when engaged. This vehicle has rarely been driven in the past 3-1/2 years. It has been residing in my driveway and only driven about once every 1-2 weeks, usually less than 10 miles at a time - just to run it around a little. It has had regular oil changes during this time. Until I parked it about 3-1/2 years ago, this car was driven the majority of the time on interstate highways. Current Delaware registration and inspection. In short, this little Tracker has been a very reliable vehicle, but the time has come to part with it. Even when my other newer cars wouldn't start or gave me trouble, this car would start right up and go. Of course, that's history and not a future guarantee. The car is being sold as is with no warranty. The car is located near Dover, Delaware.
