This 1977 Type II VW Westfalia Camper Van is complete with OEM tent and pop top. Pancake engine with points and fuel injection. Includes: AM/FM/CD/MP3 player with card reader and auxilliary input so you can play an electric guitar through the 4 speakers. Porta Potti chemical toilet enclosed under rear seat cushion. Metal screen headlight lens protectors. Off road headlights. Spare tire mounted on front with custom cover. Brand new starting battery 1/20/2012, plus front break pads. Sink with city water faucet, manual pump water from internal water tank.Gray water collection tank for disposal. 12 volt fridge. 800 watt Electrical inverter to convert 12 volts from battery to 110 volt for blenders, power tools, lap top and battery chargers etc. Battery switch from start to house battery. Built in propane tank to power camping stove and lantern on quick disconnect extension hose. Stove has accordion folding table mount. Catalytic heater. Builtin 12 volt reading lamps. 110 volt clipon reading light. Overhead dome 12 volt lights. 12 volt power source for appliances. Upholstery is heavy duty two tone corduroy with no rips, tears, or fading. Back seat folds down to complete a thick comfortable matching double bed. Opening windows with built in insect screens for comfortable sleeping. CB radio with spare plugin and magnetic antenna for communicating with another car. Many storage cabinets for food, pots & pans, dishes, cups and utensils. separate storage racks and hanging closets for clothes. Parquet floor for easy vacuuming and sweeping at the beach.. Removable dining table and post with storage for both.(Dining for 3-4 people inside). Pop top provides additional enclosed sleeping area on matching cushions on second level.Windows & screens on second level. Original OEM wall tent attaches to rain gutter and can provide access through to van or be zipped shut to provide two separate and private sleeping areas. Tent has floor, windows & screens. Tent is transported in recessed area with tie downs in roof over front seats. Poles are stored in area above hanging closets. Additional storage under hanging clothes lockers for engine spares, belts etc. Engine has been completely rebuilt several thousand miles ago. New Air/fuel mixture box for fuel injection.New muffler. Van easily passes CA smog test.Current CA registration. Rear suspension adjusted for additional wheel clearance for off road. Van has been driven throughout Baja to Cabo San Lucas and back several times. Solid tan colored privacy curtains for windshield, windows, toilet area, and tropical print curtains for all other areas. Folding compact camping chairs and table. Also built in folding table and removable coffee cup holder for 2. Headliner in good condition with only minor flaws. Sun visors and rear view mirrors are original. Built in storage shelf area below glove compartment for travel guides etc. Van contains 3 bucket seats with seat belts and folding back seat with seat belts as well Now for the artistic aspect. The bus was painted into a psychedelic bus last year by "The Art Kids of San Diego". The van has portraits in all windows but the drivers window and includes Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendricks, Janice Joplin, Peter, Paul & Mary. Simon & Garfunkle & Jim Morrison. Painted on the fenders are Carlos Santana and Bob Marley. Along the top are Marilyn Monroe and Willy Nelson. The rear of the car is a mural of the Beatles dressed as Sgt Pepper's lonely hearts club band. Rocky raccoon and buffalo springfield are also painted there. The van has become somewhat famous since being painted in that it was featured on KUSI news both in June 2011 and again in December 2011. It was featured in a full page article in San Diego Better Homes & Gardens Magazine in July and has been on exhibit at the San Diego Auto Museum for the last 4 months (Sept 2011 through Jan 2012). It was the most photographed vehicle in the exhibit. The name "Beach Club Grille" appears three times on the car and as part of the deal, I will have the artist paint that name out for the winner.For a person who uses "Buy It Now" the artist will paint over with text of your choice. The CA license plate reads "IB HIPPY" and can go with the car. There is a small crack in the left tail light lens cover and both can be replaced for $17.95 on ebay. As of this date, the bus is still on exhibit at the San Diego Auto Museum. Tomorrow I will pick it up and post additional photos of both the interior & exterior. Lights, wipers, turn signals and guages work except for the gas guage that went out recently and will need to be replaced and is not a big job on this specific vehicle.
