Vehicle Detail
1973 Plymouth cuda. Life-long CALIFORNIA car. Original 340 automatic car. Converted (correctly) to 4 speed ages ago. Car is completely gone through top to bottom. Beautiful solid car with almost everything new or rebuilt. Only rust ever was the lower rear quarters, which were replaced. Just pinholes with small patches. The rest of the car is all original sheetmetal including the trunk floor. Frame, floors, roof cowl, doors fenders, hood, decklid were all perfect and rust-free, never touched. We got the car twelve years ago (from someone we knew) who had it as a painted shell with nothing on it. Parts in boxes, stuff missing---you know the story. Pains were taken to return it to factory correct save for headers, carb, cam and intake. The paint and bodywork are very nice but have been on the car for a long time. Some people expect perfection and everyone's definition varies slightly so I'm going to say it is a very nice "Driver Quality" job----although at the last 3 shows, people considered the car completely restored. Car has 100 miles on it. Runs very strong. 340 is .40 over, mopar purple shaft cam, Edlebrock dual plane aluminum intake with Edlebrock carb. Hooker headers. A/C system is completely gone through. Save for the factory clock, everything works, including the AM radio. New dash speakers. Two 4" side by side. One for the AM radio and the other for an aftermarket system. The rear package tray is wired up with new 6x9's for an Ipod or aftermarket stereo. Car has the trim tag in place, no build sheet. Has a non-numbers matching 340, freshly rebuilt. Car was originally a green, column auto 340 cuda. Obviously changed to red. Look at the trim tag pic to verify all the options. More pics to be added. This car is for the guy or gal' who wants to put the key in and go to a car show or cruise and turn heads. It is not a concourse, paint dab', numbers matching hemicuda trailer queen blah-blah.....(although the underside is very clean), so please, see it for what it is. An extremely clean, comfortable, fresh, nicely optioned cuda to show, drive and enjoy for a fraction of the cost. Please feel free to ask any and all questions. PLENTY of pics available. Thanks for looking!!On Jan-27-12 at 10:38:21 PST, seller added the following information: Have had a lot of response so here are some additional details. The cuda has both front and rear sway bars in place. Suspension is brand new. The car has disc brakes. It has standard guages with buckets and a console. The question has been asked repeatedly if I think it would make an road trip through multiple states. It is my belief it would as I really went through the entire car to ensure reliability/lontgevity. BUT please keep in mind that it is a nearly 40 year old car and thouigh restored, things might happen. Personally, I would feel confident driving it 1000 miles. If there was a problem, I could fix it in most cases, but I am mechanically inclined. If you have minimal skills, and a problem arose, you might want to consider other transport options. Truth be known, it needs a long break-in as there are only about 100 miles on the resto. If the car sells to someone who wants to make the road-trip, I will gladly double check every aspect of the mechanical/electrical systems of the car to make sure they are free of any issues. Today I am having it re-aligned and have decided to put a new alternator on it as the current one is older. Still works, but why take a chance? Performinfg a full oil change and checking the trans and rear end gear oil. The console has a crack along the thin edge, drivers side as they all seem to get. It is otherwise solid. The seatbelt warning wiring is in place under the seats, but are not plugged in. The seats would require the installation of the sensors from junkyard units. Easy to do, but I chose not to annoy myself with the buzzer. The A/C is not charged, but I will have a favorite shop of mine charge it for the winning bidder (included with the purchase) . I left it empty in the event the car was to go overseas. I have a clear title in hand, and the car is freshly registered in the state of California. I will gladly assist in any reasonable way to make things smooth for the buyer. I reserve the right to end the auction early as it is for sale locally . On Jan-30-12 at 11:00:26 PST, seller added the following information: By the way, I have the hood scoop inserts. They were not on the car at the time of pics. They are black.
