Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 BMW Isetta 300 deluxe export 1958 I acquired the car in the early 90, with original paint, no rust anywhere except on the battery box, very complete, matching number chassis/engine/transmission, the last registration sticker dated 1978. I began the restoration in 2005 and my idea was to keep and save the original paint but, after a realistic inspection of the condition of it, I decided not to, so I sandblasted the under carriage and sanded the original paint and primer and gave new paint above the original paint. (see the last 2 pics) Last year I did all the mechanical restoration and the final reassembly. The following is a list of the jobs done on the car: - Engine : rebuild the head new valve and guide, new piston ring (the compression now is 120psi) - Transmission: original never open and shift fine - Chain case: rebuild with new bearings and seals - Nuts & bolts: 80% originals the rest is stated with new galvanize finish - Brakes: new line, shoes and seal on original Ate cylinders - Shocks: all new - Front end: new bearing, seal, and silent bloc - All cable are new - Electrical: original wiring in perfect condition (everything work) - Signal lights: the plastic faded but no crack - Interior: the material that has been used is not original but look good to me, blue leather and the cardboard panels are cover with vinyl, other then that the printing is identical to the original press, German carpet - Glass: new windshield and rest of the glass show only 3 minor scratches - Weather strip: all new robber and felt. - Chrome: front bumper is original chrome, the rear is new, all the rest has been re-chromed, only the head light rim shows same pitting but the Hella engraving is still readable. - Muffler: is the original only repainted - Front mirror : only the driver side is the original sun wiser - Luggage rack: is a reproduction, the mountings are original; the leather luggage is from the period, and it saw better time (condition) but it goes with the object car (as classify from the guru cars journalists) The speedometer shows 7891mi, I believe they are the original miles considering the above description of same component like the muffler, the electrical wiring, the engine, and the must, the minimalist body doesn't shows stress on the metal, only same pitting on the bottom of the floor pan. I did short drive test, the transmission and brake they all performed properly, the engine start as race car (fraction of second). Thanks for looking.
