Vehicle Detail

3-day relisting of this vehicle due to incomplete transaction with highest bidder. For your consideration is a very clean 1971 Ford Bronco with a 302 , manual 3 speed and air conditioning. Color is a period appropriate Yellow with white. I purchased this vehicle a few months ago with the intention of completing the previous owner's restoration process, but my job committments have forced me to change my course of action. This Bronco has spent it's life in Southern Texas and Arkansas. I chose to remove the undercoating everywhere from the underside through the wheel wells to inspect the frame, body and components, power-washed any dirt or grime, and then used a premium undercoating in the wheel wells and body underside. I epoxy coated the frame, differentials and most steering components. I took over 100 pictures in the process to document the thoroughness of inspection. This truck would make an exceptional daily driver, but it seems everyone's opinion of a "potential show truck" varies widely, so I have no intention of mis-stating any facts. Minimal rust noticed; most obvious spot on small rear wheel well panel, approximately 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" on driver's side behind rear wheel. As this truck spent its life in the south, the heat was never used, so the heater box was disassembled, cleaned and painted. A new heater core, upgraded blower motor and blower wheel were purchased and installed, along with a new heater control valve, hoses and control. The headlight switch and dimmer switch were replaced, along with a new ignition switch. I purchased new matching lock cylinders and keys for the ignition, doors and hardtop. The door panels were removed and the door interiors were cleaned , prepped and undercoated. The door and door window weatherstripping were removed and replaced along with a new dash cover. Mechanically, the engine and transmission , I was told, were rebuilt by the previous owner, and appears as though this is the case. Mileage appears to be over 100,000 on truck prior to rebuild / restoration. He also installed the floor mounted shifter and new clutch. I chose to rebuild the carbeurator, replace the starter ( the original ignition switch was hanging up causing the starter at times to not disengage ), and purchase a new dual exhaust system from the headers back by Hooker. The long tube headers have a 3" outlet which neccessitates a new connector pipe from them to the new mufflers. The brakes were re-done by the previous owner as well. This truck also has a new aluminum high capacity radiator and electric fan. The transfer case shifts between two wheel drive, neutral and four wheel drive as should. A roll bar is included but has not been bolted in for final installation. The seats were replaced with non-original but similar ones (low back black vinyl) by the previous owner, which have some cracks. A rear seat is included which is finished in white vinyl. Rims are aluminum 16 inch, ten inches wide with a fifth rim for a spare. The swing away spare tire carrier is refinished in white and included. The air conditioning is an under dash vintage air unit complete with compressor , also uninstalled. Older cheesy radio included, but strongly recommend a better unit. The windshield got cracked during shipping to my location, along with some damage to the hard top. A replacement windshield is $75-$95 which I no longer have the time to have replaced prior to sale. I did purchase a very solid used hard top a few weeks ago, located in Michigan, which could go with this sale, provided the new buyer can either make shipping arrangements or pick up...definitely worth the effort as it is clean and solid. I have not driven this truck on the road ( open headers ), but have started it at the garage, moved it in and out on multiple occassions. I am unable to complete the few items left, including ensuring all aspects of wiring are correct, setting of ignition timing ( had a Pertronix unit installed, but also have new points and condenser), final adjustments to carb and engine, install exhaust, install choke cable, vacuum line and re-plumb fuel line to main gas tank, bleed brakes. The paint is fine for daily driving, but I intended on a paint commensurate with the quality of the rest of this truck. Previous owner also installed a 3" body lift and new front shocks, which prompted me to purchase and install new stainless steel nerf bars for ease of egress. With a little time and effort, this truck would be comparable to much more expensive trucks seen regularly on eBay. If you are looking for a "show truck", please "show" another seller an additional $10-$15k and go from there. Minimal rust, vast majority of the restoration completed. This listing is as accurate as I could make it. I have a 100% positive rating with over 200 transactions, so please feel free to contact me with any further questions (773) 332-4184. Being a 40 year old truck, it is sold "as is" with no implied warranty, but should not disappoint. Not many of these awesome trucks remain, and even fewer as clean and original as this one. Lower -than -I want "Buy It Now" price due to my relocating and subsequent lack of available time. Buyers with less than 10 positive feedback transactions are NOT eligible to bid. Serious buyers only. Good luck and happy bidding !!
