Vehicle Detail
This is a classic "shagin van" from the 70's in great condition! We found it in Alaska and drove it to Florida without a problem just three months ago. It has 124,000 original miles. We put new brakes, tires, some wiring, tie rod and a wiper motor on it for the trip. It handled the mountains and Chicaco traffic and traffic jams like a pro, never over heating. It has the original gold shag. The previous owner built a queen size bed frame and we put a brand new queen size mattress on it. There are drapes that enclose the entire van on a track. It has a shelf bed/storage behind the two original driver bucket seats. The seats swivel to fact the back. We have a new fridg, microwave and toaster oven plus porta potty for it, that we pulled out, as it is now in storage. (Won't fit under our carport). These will go with it. When camping across the AlCan, we simply used a power strip and plugged in to full power sites at campgrounds along the way. There is also a new porta potty that slips under the bed. We simply put a cooler between the two bucket seats with ice and water for the trip. The bed frame could easily be removed and the van customized to personal taste. It does need some wiring to the left turn signal in the back. We couldn't wait for the part in Alaska, as we were trying to beat the snow coming out.Starts on the first crank, and once it warms up drives forever. This is classic 1970's so fuel economy relates to the era, but compared to a traditional RV it is economical. People were cheering us all along the way, and recognized the old girl for what she was. $500 due at the time of the winning bid via Paypal. Balance due in cash or approved bank check upon pick up of the van or seven days whichever comes first. This van could take you back to Alaska or to classic car shows. It won't fit under our car port and my husband is disabled and it is simply too big for me to handle. We have the original owners manual that goes with the van. The title is clear and the van is registered and current in Alaska. Pick up at the location or transport from the location is the buyers responsibility. On Jan-20-12 at 07:23:57 PST, seller added the following information: Please note the mileage is 164,000 miles, not 124,000 miles. I was not able to get the edit to work and allow me to change it in the listing
