1998 AUDI A6 QUATTRO 2.8L SEDAN Up for sale is a 1998 Audi A6 2.8L v6 Quattro with 114,xxx miles. The car is silver with navy blue leather and dark oak trim (rare combo). As mentioned this car has Audi`s famed all wheel drive system paired with a set of cooper tires with approimately 60% tred. This amazing all wheel drive system has ceased to impress me during tough Iowa winter weather conditions. This car came with every imaginable option including heated front seats, heated steering wheel, two zone climate control and 5 disc CD changer. The car runs beautifully and has had regular maintenance and oil changes done. The 75k mile service was done on time by an authorized Audi dealer; this includes a new water pump and timing belt (a ~$2000 repair that is a MUST for older Audis). Since I have owned the car, both front axel shafts have been replaced and the battery is brand-new. I also had a repair done to the cruise control module (cost approx. $500 at the dealer) and replaced am exhaust clamp that has become warn. The car is in great shape considering its age and most everything is in working order but keep in mind, as it is 13 years old, it is not perfect. A couple of repairs that were recommended by the local Audi service center was to replace the cam gaskets (it is common for them to wear out on this engine and it is a relatively inexpensive repair) and the front pads could use replacing soon. Cosmetically, again, the car is is amazing shape. There is a paint chip on the rear bumper, there is a crack underneath the rear bumper due to the bumper being so low and coming into contact with angled drive-ways, and a hard to spot dent on the driver's door. See the photos for details. Sale of the car will include both of the original Audi keys and original owner's manuals. Blue book on this vehicle as optioned is approximately $5500. The asking price reflects my desire to sell the car soon and a few repairs to be done described above. Buyer is responsible for arranging delivery. I will be willing to work with the auction winner to set up transportation pickup or deliver the vehicle for a nominal fee (if the buyer lives in the surrounding states).
