Vehicle Detail

1965 Plymouth Barracuda. This used to be your grandmothers Barracuda with a /6 and was garage kept for a long time prior to being hotrodded. Anyway… Drivetrain: Built 360ci, runs great. I just say “built” because I know it’s healthy, but the exact specs are not available due to the original builder is not around anymore. It’s just received a reground 10/10 crank, with new mains & rod bearings of course, and a new harmonic balancer. Other new “tune up” parts include the usual stuff: belts, hoses, plugs, wires, cap, fluids and filters. Mopar Electronic Ignition. Twin electric fans and aluminum radiator do a great job of keeping it cool. Carter AFB Competition Series 625cfm carb, fed by an electric fuel pump. Exhaust via headers to dual 2” system with Flowmasters. Produces a nice mean rumble at idle. Fresh & fully rebuilt A904 with reverse pattern manual valve body and Pro Ratchet shifter. It shifts nice and hard! New reman’d torque converter, stock stall. Out back is a Ford 8” rearend fitted with fairly new 4:10 gears, and traction bars for what they’re worth. SS Cragars in excellent condition, wearing BFG g-force tires with plenty of tread left. Brakes are disc conversion up front, with stock Ford drums in the rear. Battery relocated to the trunk, with external disconnect switch. Exterior: Original California black plate car with no rust whatsoever. Paint is no good, it’s well oxidized on the top surfaces and wasn’t a very good job to start with. Body is very straight except for a couple of minor issues up front and one at the back. As you can see the valance panel was modified (poorly), so I did my best to clean it up and also fitted the mesh grille to make it somewhat presentable. Cheap LED turn signals were added to keep it legal but I’d prefer going back to the original grille inserts with turn signals. Obviously I don’t have them otherwise they’d be installed. A few bumps around the lower front panels where they meet the valance. All very easily repaired. The passenger side rear took a light hit at some stage, probably from backing into something. There’s some bondo in there and you can notice a slight tweak to the taillight. With some easy panel work and a paint job, this will be a very nice car. Interior: Front and rear seats have been reupholstered and look great. New seatbelts in the front. There are seatbelts in the rear but are just tucked behind the seat. Headliner is perfect with no tears! Carpet is average in the front, but still nice in the back as you can see in the pics. Dash is original and not cut up. Missing only the front passenger arm rest and sun visor. All doors, locks, windows, work fine with no issues. Summary: This is a great car with loads of potential easily brought to new life with a few little things. Be different and drive this massive back windowed beast around your neighborhood. Note that the mileage listed is probably 103513 and is only valid up to the point that the /6 was removed. Currently the speedo is not connected. It needs the correct cable to the A904. Let me know if you have any questions or need specific pics of anything. I know how eBay can be so I’m being as honest as possible with what I know about this car. I wish I could keep it, but another project requires funds. This car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction prematurely. Also, if you’re in SoCal, this car will be at Pomona swap meet this coming Sunday… Also, if anyone is interested, I have a 1954 Chrysler Imperial, all original, running and driving with a 331 Hemi and factory a/c. It’ll be ready for sale soon…
