Up for auction today is a 1985 VW Golf Diesel. I got this car from a person in California who had a ton of work done on it. The girl I got this car for has to go to Australia for some new war the US is getting into. She paid a lot of money for this car but now has no place to put it, so she gave it to Me to sale. I hate to sale this car because it is so nice, but I have no place to keep it, plus most of My family already have diesels, so here it is. It has more than $7000.00 invested into it. I drove this car back from California, and it is one nice car. It got about 47mpg all the way back at about 70mph. Other than some small things here and there that are mostly cosmetic, this is a perfect car. I would have no problem driving this car across the US or farther. I will be listing all the good things and bad. Over all I give this car a 7+ out of 10 for looks, and a 9 out of 10 for everything else. The motor has been rebuilt 1.5 years ago, and has a great transmission, and clutch. It was a very nice car to drive back from California, and is going to go for many more years. Here is the list of all the good things. 1. Engine rebuild 15k ago. 2. Rebuilt Injection pump 20k ago. 3. New clutch 10k ago. 4. Rebuilt vacuum pump 20k ago. 5. New ball joints 30k ago. 6. New tie rods 30k ago. 7. New front struts and rear shocks 30k ago. 8. New wheel bearings front and rear 30k ago. 9. New radiator, thermal switch. 10. New radiator, and fan motor. 11. New front and rear brakes with drums and rotors 10K ago. 12. New muffler. 13. New tires 10k miles ago. 14. Alignment 10k ago. 15. New fuel filter 10K miles ago. 16. It has just had its 6th oil change on the rebuilt motor. 17. All electrical works ok. 18. Inside looks very nice with great carpets. 19. No rust on the car except a small spot under the left side window. 20. Seats look great. 21. Has GTI fender flares. 22. Has GTI lower valance. 23. New windshield and gasket 20k ago. 24. Sony CD player with Ipod input, Rockford Fosgate 300 watt amp, and two 10" Kicker subwoofers. 28. Sealed beam headlight conversion with German made Hella housings. 29. New headliner two weeks ago. 30. New wiper blades and fluid. 31. Paint looks good. Very clean looking car. 32. New battery 3k ago. 33. Car is lowered. 34. 15" aloy wheels with 70%+ on tires. Now for the bad. 1. The car dose have some dings, and one dent in the rear left corner. See photos.. 2. Wheels are chipping do to age. 3. Small crack on dash over stereo. See photos. 4. Drivers inside door scraper is cracked, and chipped away. See photos. 5. Small rust spot under right/rear side window. It is so small you can not see it till you get really close. 6. Small chip in paint under right/passenger window. See photos. 7. Small chip in paint in back of the left rear side window. See photos. 8. Door jams did not get painted with the rest of the car. Cars old collor is cream. These are all the things I can see on the car. This is a very nice car that is sure to save you on gas and turn some heads at the same time. It does have 200k on the car, but this thing is like new with all the work done to it. It is getting harder and harder to find these Golfs with the diesel engine, especially one this nice. I would love to keep this car in the family If I could but most of them already have diesels, so it has to go.
