Allow me a moment to address some important points about this car, as I am certain some of these questions will be asked: 1. Rust - This car does not have any rust anywhere. While I have not personally climbed under the car to look, I asked our mechanic to. He did and commented that there is no visible rust anywhere. At State Inspection, where the car is put on a lift, no mention of rust or corrosion was brought to our attention. 2. Transmission. 1997 marked a newly refined and improved transmission in the Honda Accord. Previous years proved to have some common issues that were address and fixed starting a year prior in 1997. This transmission shifts just as it should. There is plenty of power that combines with smooth transitions. 3. V-TEC! Yes, this car does come with the V-Tec engine Upgrade. This motor features the 3.0 Liters V6 Engine, offering an amazing 20-28 Miles per Gallon! Performance is Maximized in this V-Tec (Variable Timing and Lift Electronic Control) system that adds horsepower to a standard Engine. You will find this increase in performance is balanced with an increase in engine efficiency thus gas mileage remains between 20-28 Miles Per Gallon! 4. Repairs We Have Performed: When we got this car, we took it in for VA State Safety Inspection and it passed. The shop did comment that while the brakes passed, they recommended going ahead and replacing them. So, we had new front brakes installed. A few days later, the SRS light came on. I have now found out that this is a very common issue on these cars so the car is back at the shop having the needed repairs performed. It has something to do with the passenger seat rider sensor. I did not really focus on the details from the shop but that it is being repaired with factory replacement parts. This will cost me about $1,200 when it is all said and done. So, having spend so much on repairs, you can buy this Honda with confidence. FIRST IMPRESSION: At first glance, this Car is a Looker. This car is in overall very good to excellent condition, better than I would expect from the year and miles. The love the previous owner showed for this car is obvious from the overall excellent condition and upgrades. With comfortable seating for 5, and luxury surrounding, this Honda Accord is a Great Car. Comfortable, Dependable, Economical and Prestigious, this Honda is everything you want and then some! Exterior: The Exterior of this Honda is a Silvery Gray Color that looks Metallic to me. This is a deep color that looks great. There is lots of luster and shine to the paint. The color is so deep and brilliant that I would believe this car to have been garage kept. The paint has held up well and does not show it‘s age. You will find the exterior of this car to be very classy! The combination of elegant color, sporty 15” Alloy Wheels, Factory Tinted Windows, and overall Sleek Lines Make for a sharp looking sedan. So style, function, and curb appeal all in one! The 15” Alloy Wheels are factory upgrades and are in great condition. The wheels looks sharp and show just a little normal wear. The tires look brand new and just passed VA State Safety inspection. They are in great condition. Exterior Upgrades Continue with a Fully Power Sunroof complete with retractable sunshade. This Sunroof will Open Completely to let the sun and breezes flow in, You Can Vent It Up/Pop It Up for a little added airflow, or just open the shade and let the sun in through the glass panel roof. Any way you enjoy this Sunroof upgrade, it certainly adds to the driving appeal and comfort. When we traded this car in, it had a wind shield on the outside of the sunroof. I noticed it was a little loose so I had it removed and put in the trunk for the next owner if you want to re install it. There is a switch to the left of the steering wheel that controls the Factory Sunroof. The front Headlights are Clean and Clear. There is a front license plate holder. You will find lots of exterior features such as: Power Exterior Door Mirrors. There is a sharp and classy chrome outlined grille and front license plate bracket. The Bumpers, both front and rear, are body colored to match the Silver body paint color. The door handles, exterior mirrors, etc are also painted to match the body color. This is a great upgrade that really adds to the elegant appeal and sophistication of this car. This car shows some normal wear and item significant enough to mention. There may be a normal door ding or two and maybe a tiny scuff on the bumpers, but there is nothing significant or particularly noteworthy. Frankly, for a 2000 model, I would personally say the exterior of this car is in Excellent to Very Good Condition. There are some minor issue to be expected. We do not see any indications of paint or body work. Overall, the outside of this car is consistent with its age and in my opinion in above average condition. Interior: The Overall Interior of this Honda Accord EX is Fantastic. Every time I hop in this car, I find more cool stuff! It has gotten to the point where every time we notice some new, cool feature, our only response is Of Course. Of Course this car has many factory upgrades that make it even more comfortable to drive! This Car is Full of all sorts of Surprises and Upgrades! The Overall Condition is Very Good, too. The seats, carpets, dash and trim are all in just great condition. It smells great inside, with no smoke odor and no obnoxious odor. This Honda Accord Features Gray Leather Interior. The seats are upholstered in a light gray color and are very soft and subtle. You will not find any significant wear anywhere inside this car. The interior is a medium gray color accented with touches of black and wood grain trim. You will find the seats, carpets, and lower dash panels to be the gray color. Black accents the center console and steering wheel. Wood grain adorns the doors. The steering wheel is in great condition, it is smooth and feels great. No sun or heat damage has occurred to the steering wheel. This combination of gray and black colors looks amazing and is one of my favorite color combinations. Black continues on the gear shifter. The gear shifter is conveniently mounted on the center console. The carpets are also a matching gray color. The steering wheel is black and in great condition! There are no notable issues. No rips, no funny or obnoxious odors. Taking the pictures was a breeze as the interior just looks great! We never try to hide flaws with tricky angles or lighting so in this car, the pictures do not even show how good this car looks in person. There are not small pet hairs or pet odors in this car. There is also no smell of cigarette smoke, either. I am allergic to cigarette smoke and usually pick up on any right away and this Honda Accord EX has no smokey smells. There is a fully power sunroof with easy to use power controls. There is a switch to the left of the steering wheel that controls the sunroof. Also overhead you will find Homelink, garage door openers. You can program and thus open/close up to 3 separate garage doors. Entertainment System: This Accord comes complete with an awesome sound system. You will find an in dash CD player and AM FM Stereo. There are 6 Speakers that sound great. The Seats are all in Excellent condition. You will not find any major flaws. There are no rips, no holes, no burns, and no tears on the seating surfaces. The 2 front captain style seats are multi point adjustable. The driver seat is power height and adjustable lumbar support. Both front seats have height adjustable head rests and height adjustable shoulder belts. The rear seat accommodates 3 more passengers. The back seat has a center flip down arm rest. This is a flip forward rear seat for added cargo/hauling space. There is also a cold winter/ski boot access in this Honda. While this feature is common on Volvos/Saabs/BMWs, this is probably the first time I have seen it on a Honda. There is a little compartment door that opens to allow long items to slip from the trunk though the rear seat. A wonderful surprise in a Honda. There are four passenger entry handles. In between the front seats is a padded armrest. This arm rest flips open to expose two storage compartments. The top compartment has integrated change storage and the lower, second compartment is open and deep. Overhead you will find more features. There are overhead lights for both front and rear passengers. Front riders have dual vanity mirrors. There is also a sunglass holder over head, between the front visors. There are front intermittent front windshield wipers. Cruise Control is on the side of Steering Wheel and on the Steering Wheel Itself. Turn the cruise on with the button to the left of the wheel and then set and adjust with the steering wheel mounted buttons. We tested the cruise control and it works perfectly! Just below the sunroof button is a pull out bin. I find this is very useful for small items such as change. There are full power options including Power Windows, Door locks, and Power Side View Mirrors. There is remote keyless entry with a key fob. One key and one fob are included. The driver side door has all power controls for the windows and side view mirrors. There are large storage bins in each of the front doors, and one in each of the rear doors. On the front dash, center area, there is an AC power source. On the center console there are two cup holders, with retractable cover. In the trunk is a recessed mounted spare tire. Overall, the Interior of this Honda Accord EX is well equipped and in better condition than I would expected. I have not noticed any major or obvious defects with the interior other than the few stains on the carpet. We have tested all the interior features and find everything seems to work as they should. Under the Hood: This Honda Accord EX has it all, including an upgraded 3.0 Liter V6 VTEC Engine! It generates an impressive 200-horsepower at 5,500 RPM and 195 pounds of torque at 4,700 RPM's. The Fun to Drive and Sporty Automatic Transmission allows for 20-28+ MPG. This is comparable fuel economy to the little wimpy 4 cylinder and offers almost 40% better performance. VA State Safety Inspected valid thru 12-2012! Driving Impressions: What can I say, This is a Honda Accord. It is everything that Hondas are and have been. It is why Honda continues to be High Selling, Retain Huge Residual Values, and Are So Actively Sought After Vehicles! This 2000 Honda Accord EX Drives Fantastic! I have really gotten attached to this car and get upset whenever I have to drive anything else. No matter how often I drive a Honda Accord, I continue to be amazed at how nice of a car they are to ride and drive. Mechanically, this car is in great condition. It has plenty of power, lots of pep, and handles great. I have had this car on the highway, around town, and in between and it drives just great! Performance is spirited — or to some, pleasantly eager — with the six-cylinder V-Tec engine. We just had this car VA State Safety Inspected so it is ready to ride and drive. We had new front brakes installed (not because it failed but to just top off the driving experience!) Carfax: The Carfax on this Accord is CLEAN AND CLEAR! This 2 Owner cars shows fno problems, no accidents, no floods and no salvage title. The report is so good on this car that CarFax estimates that it is worth and extra $270 above average book value!
