Vehicle Detail
1965 Ford Mustang Coupe -- Hi Po Muscle Car, 289 V-8 Wimbledon White This a heavily customized '65 Mustang for the discerning muscle car enthusiast, and I want it to have a good home. I've owned it for 28 years and kept it garaged for nearly all of that time. Up on blocks under a car cover for most of the last 15 years, then brought it out and reconditioned it this year ( $4900 in upgrades/repairs in the last few months! Have receipts to prove it. ) -- I'm sad to part with this pony but happy to give the lucky buyer a fantastic value. Happy New Year sacrifice price! SPECIAL NOTE to BUYERS: I have the title and it is completely clear. Thanks! -------- MORE IMAGES HERE: http://arkivo.com/mustang65_project/ /////////// ////////////// RECENT WORK : Rebuilt Holley carb, engine flushed, tune-up, oil change, rebuilt brakes (front only), fuel system flush. All new: new pedal assembly, new shifter, new fuel tank, new headliner, new window glass seals front and back, new seat covers, new upholstery in trunk, new battery. Receipts to prove all of the above. ////////////// FEATURES --- 289 V-8: rebuilt with custom racing cam, headers -- estimated 350hp+ . . . lots of pony power ! --- Holley 650 Double Pumper carburetor, just completely rebuilt . . . ! --- racing air filter --- electric fuel pump --- Mickey Thompson valve covers + chrome quick-release tie downs --- Oversize voltage regulator, Mallory ignition system, oversize distributor cap for optimal spark, racing wires --- Cross-flow radiator (Ford Galaxy), plus pony oil radiator --- 8-qt oversize oil pan, custom oil pump --- Over-engine cross brace for frame stability --- Heavy duty racing clutch --- 4-Speed transmission, Hurst shifter (brand new shifter and linkage! ) --- Headers, custom dual exhaust with balancer (Enoch's of Burbank, California) --- Custom heavy driveshaft (Cannon Driveshaft of North Hollywood, California) --- Custom beefy after-market differential --- Pneumatic rear shocks -- adjustable via air pressure --- Bridgestone Radials, Ford Motor Co. Police-style wheel covers (slick! ) --- Battery moved to trunk (shifts weight over rear wheels, frees space in engine bay) --- Performance supplemental instruments: Oil Pressure, Voltage/Ammeter, Vacuum/Fuel Saver, Tach (not connected at present) --- Racing steering wheel --- Corbeau custom bucket seats (frames recently repaired, new seat covers, need new upholstery ) --- Wimbledon White paint (one of the original '65 Mustang colors) --- Electric antenna -- hides away --- Chapman hood lock --- original black license plate ////////////// SOME HISTORY I bought the car in 1983, spent something like $14K over the next ten years replacing nearly every part with a high-power, after-market, or racing upgrade. From 1993 till present I have garaged it and driven it very little. Restoration/Upgrades resumed this year, well over $4K on the following: rebuilt Holly 650 Double-Pumper carb, engine & fuel system flush, rebuilt pedal assembly, new Hurst shifter, gear box adjust, rebuilt front brakes, new fuel tank, new headliner and reupholstered visors, seats repaired (NOTE: front seats are custom Cobeau seats which could use reupholstering -- ask me about great options for getting this done!). Receipts to prove all of the above. Garaged and car-covered for most of the last 28 years. Rear bench seat is original. Any reasonable offer considered. Payment Terms: PayPal, major Credit Cards, personal or biz check; sorry, NO CASHIERS CHECK -- NO MONEY ORDER. Vehicle runs great! Like all high-performance cars, this pony needs TLC. Luckily, parts and service are easy to come by, and it's an easy car to work on! Sold as is. Thanks and happy bidding!
