2001 Ford Crown Vic retired cruiser. I have owned this car for the past two years. This was my daily driver until last month when I received a company vehicle. The Good: New in the last two years: battery, starter, alternator, windshield wiper motor, 4 new tires, 4 wheel brakes, both head light lenses. Does not smoke. Does not use oil. Tires are about 50% tread. I average 20 mpg, mixed highway/in town, if I keep my foot out of it. OTOH, it will get up and go when you push hard on the gas pedal ! The Bad: Several annoyances that I put up with: The interior light works manually, but not when the door opens. The push button for the gas cap does not work. I just use a key to pop the cap open. The parking brake light does not always come on. The temp control knob is stiff to turn sometimes in the cold. The most noticeable issue is the paint is flaking off on the roof and rear deck lid. I took a couple of pictures to show where the paint is flaking. I have done a quick "touch up" with Krylon to make it less noticeable. But, it is there. Apparently a known issue for Ford during this era when they were changing their paint formulation. I have tried to describe the car as accurately as possible. All the major stuff works as expected. No safety issues. But this is not a new vehicle. You are welcome to arrange a test drive. Please ask all questions before bidding. Payment via cash or certified funds at the time of title transfer.
