Vehicle Detail
This car was my daily driver until the day I tinkered with it and blew the engine. I can go into specifics if you have more questions but I managed to create a "runaway diesel" situation. The interior is MB-Tex and could use a good cleaning but if you know anything about that you know it cleans up very nicely. The A/C work(ed?), all but the rear window works, power seats work, factory radio works but the cassette does not, sunroof has been disabled, all lights work, new battery(needs to be charged), new tires with only 6K miles on them. I am also including two air filters, two fuel filters, two oil filters, cabin air filter, set of front OEM compound brake pads, about fifty assorted fuses, bearing rebuild kits, two or or three primary fuel filters(the clear plastic kind) and a rebuildable transmission that I replaced last year. The engine story in a nutshell is a follows: The engine ran at wide open throttle for a minute or two before probably burning holes in the pistons that finally allowed it to stop. I lowered the hood while that was going on to keep anything from blowing out of the engine and into me. The turbo/exhaust got red hot resulting in the hood lining catching on fire and melting various other plastic/rubber components under the hood. It was only on fire for about 30 seconds before I put it out. All the gunk you see is the hood lining that melted and fell onto the engine. I also have a spare differential that you see part of in the spare transmission pic. If you have any other questions please ask me and I'll be sure to list them in the answered questions for everybody else to see too. BuyItNow will be set at $750 and the opening bid will be $250....No Reserve....if I can do that. I miss her every time I open the door and hear that sweet W124 MB door "thunk" but I can't afford to replace the engine. On Jan-05-12 at 17:33:13 PST, seller added the following information: ***Corrections to original description: All the windows work but the driver rear window because it has a bad motor. I also have various gaskets and O-rings that will go with the car. Also, I just found five used injectors I replace a couple years ago, they worked fine but I wanted to see if I could improve on them. I also have about eight used glow plugs that actually worked when I removed them. I had a couple that were slow to warm that I trashed. The glow plugs in the engine are brand spanking new and only used once....right before I blew the motor. While I had the intake manifold off I decided to change them out. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have.
