This process allows them to sell the car after it has been held for 45 days. During the process the owner is always notified prior to the sale of the vehicle. The owner always has the option to pay off any fees and claim their vehicle. If no fees are paid within the 45 days then the tow company sells the vehicle and the previous owner loses any right to claim the car. Lien sale papers are legal title in the state of California as well as many other states and countries. There are no fees owed on this lien!!!
