You are bidding on a very nice 1987 Toyota MR2 that has had a lot of work professionally done to make this a very nice driving vehicle. I bought this car in 2009 and it needed a lot of work. So, I bought a brand new engine from Auto Zone and had it professionally installed. The motor is not rebuilt or reconditioned, it is brand new. In addition, I also had a new alternator, MAF sensor, oxygen sensor, temperature sensor, spark plugs and thermostat all replaced in the span of a few months. I also had a new muffler put on the car, as well as just recenty bought a new battery with a warranty. I have all the paperwork documenting that this work was done professionally. Since the new engine and parts have been in, it has only been driven 17,000 miles, so everything is still practically brand new. The heater and the air conditioner work fine, although the air conditioner does need a charge every summer. That is pretty typical with these cars. I had the air conditioning system checked out as well and everything is great with it. The car also has an aftermarket cd player that I have run a cable from that allows for an ipod or mp3 player hookup. That is the jack that can be seen in the interior picture behind the gear shifter. The gas mileage averages around 28-30 mpg in town and around 35-36 mpg on the highway. Now for the not so good stuff. There is a spot on the front bumper where the paint has come off. It is small and I have included a picture. There is some rust on the car. Again, this is pretty typical of these cars. I have taken pictures of all the problem areas. Also, the car does not have a radio antenna. It was never an issue for me because I very rarely listen to the radio. The window on the driver's side catches when it goes up and down. I think it might just be a little off track, but I don't know enough about them to tear into it myself and have not had the time recently to have it looked at. It still functions, it is just a little herky-jerky. Finally, the latch that opens the trunk from the inside of the car has stopped working, but the trunk does open with the key. All in all, this would make a great car for anyone who wants a nice, reliable sports car to drive and to save on fuel costs . It does have its minor issues, but what car doesn't at 25 years old!
