Vehicle Detail

Greetings, Up for bid is one awesome 1987 Mercedes Benz 300D CONVERTED to run on Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO). Many people advertise “WVO Ready” but this one is already converted to run on WVO. I used a GreaseCar conversion and have ran over 200 gallons through it. The 300D on its own is an incredible vehicle and when you add the fact that you can drive practically for free makes it even better. I hate to sell this car, but I am in the Air Force and found out I am deploying to the Middle East and can’t store it. This auction doesn’t end with the car. I am including a Fryer to Fuel processing unit to filter and de-water the grease. Please note the processor is now used and is not a pristine as it looks in the picture. Also, if you live close to El Segundo, I can give you my source for the WVO. If you are looking for a turn-key WVO car and all the logistics, this is your chance. As with all my auctions, below is the good, bad, and ugly of the car: Good: · The engine is solid. The previous owner rebuilt the fuel injector pump and it runs strong. I completed a 1200 mile trip to Tucson without any issues. It gets 25 MPG with Grease or Diesel! · Rust – There is none · Interior – no rips, tears, or wear on the seats · Electrical – Most things work: Door locks, windows, AM/FM CD Player, sunroof, gauges, etc. Also, I wired the grease system directly into the fuse box. Mercedes is one of the easiest cars to work electrical issues on and this one is not cut up at all. · Oil Consumption – there is none. No drops on the ground and it stays full. Bad: · Transmission – shifts good but there is a mount for the rear differential that should be replaced. There is a clunk when shifting. Most of the times, when shifting spiritedly, it is not noticeable. · Air Conditioning – It does not cool. I found a receipt from the previous owner. She replaced a lot of stuff but it still does not cool off the car. It could be as simple as a recharge but I never use air, so it was never a concern of mine. · Cruise Control does not work · Tires – 7/32nd in the front and 4/32nd on the rear · Springs and shocks – getting a little soft, but it still rides better than most cars. · Mileage – The original odometer broke at 141,369 miles. It was a 140 MPH speedometer. I could only find a 160 MPH speedo to replace it, and it has about a 10% error. I could explain the math, but it would be a long geeky answer. I am estimating the mileage at 147,500. Ugly · You can see from the pictures, the previous owner did not know where the front of her car was. Also, it could use a good detailing. · She also turned into a pole, causing a repair, with filler, to the left rear door area. They did a good job, but if you put a magnet to the door and some of the quarter, it will not stick. Overall, this car will not let you down and is quite the runner. There is some TLC that is needed, but you won’t find another one that allows you to start driving on WVO immediately. I will also give you all the processed grease I have and can help deliver the car and the processor to you. Let me know where you live and I can work out a generous estimate to get the equipment and car to you. I have a truck and will be very reasonable, if I charge at all, to get it to you in the LA area Please ask any questions via E-bay or call me at 310-702-3974. I live on an Air Force Base so I would have to set up a time if you want to see it. Thanks for looking! Harvey PS – This is the second time I’m listing this. If you saw it before, I dropped the price on the last day due to what I thought was a leaking heater core. It turns out it was a leaking coolant line, which I replaced. I have been driving this car every day and it is running strong. I really need to sell this, so I have dropped the starting bid $1500.00. Just because I dropped the starting bid, please do not try to scam me. I know all the tricks to include the fake money orders, delivering to a foreign country, ending the auction early, and trying to make deals outside of e-bay. Please don’t waste your time if you are going to try the tricks. If you have less than 5 positive feedbacks, please call me first before bidding.
