Vehicle Detail

Highest bidder from the Arab Emirates. He did not know the exact location of the US ! so I will have to auction it again. I sell only to US, Canada, Mexico or Germany. Mercedes of the 70´s are not only very beautiful and elegant but also reliable daily drivers. This particular SEL I bought some months ago with the intention of restoring it to its former glory, but I already own a few old cars -and no place to store it- and concluded that I would better focus on finishing current projects. White color makes it look elegant, floor shifter is relatively rare, and body is solid. The car is in good shape considering its age. It could be used as a daily driver with lots of syle or it can be restored if you want to have it very nice. The engine seems solid. No smoke, no oil consumption, high oil pressure and lots of power. However, I should say that the car requires a tune-up. I just drove it from Austin to Laredo, TX with no issues but I noticed less power than a few months ago. I checked and the car requires new spark plug cables -one is visually in bad shape plus injectors cleaned etc. A a tune-up is a must if you want to drive it back home. I can recommend Dr. Benz in Laredo - a few blocks away of where I am keeping the car-. Mileage is around 70K but being quite honest I am not sure about the real mileage of the car since I have only had the car some months ago. The body is in general very solid. I think this car has never been in an accident at all. Doors close Mercedes solid and the profile of the car is perfect. The car needs to be resprayed to make it beautiful again. From far away looks OK but once you get close that there are many small details on the paint (chips, etc.) that could easily be fixed if you have it sprayed. The car seems to be in original shape with no previous restorations. There is one spot of rust in the trunk that requires attention - look at the photos- but most of the trunk is really very nice. Again, it needs to be resprayed to make it beautiful but most importantly there is no structural rust. Suspension works nicely, shocks seem to be good, I had brakes fixed, and tires are in good shape. Air conditioner works but is not that cold. As usual, it will require a charge of gas. The place where the car requires more attention is the interior: repair and have new filling in the seats, change the carpet, the wood needs attention, etc. I suggest to take a look at the car before you bid. If you want to have a look, let me know and I can arrange you visit the place where it is stored - near downtown Laredo,Tx-. I am not in town but you can go provided you e-mail me before. Reserve IS MUCH less than the lowest NADA value (about $4K) because I do not want to pay storage for months. I tried to describe the car as clearly as possible -and I want to keep my e-bay score perfect- but this is an old car and I cannot give you any warranties at all. Please ask BEFORE biddding.
