This auction is for a truly unique Ford. A rare 1961 Falcon Sedan delivery. The sedan delivery was based upon the Falcon wagon and was produced in very limited numbers. This particular Falcon is equipped with a number of features that make it a special ride. This Falcon was created many years ago as a tribute to the sedan delivery built by Pete Brock when he worked for Carroll Shelby at his original factory in Venice California. Brock took a drivetrain out of a Shelby Mustang GT350 and installed it in the shop's Falcon Sedan Delivery. The result was one of the coolest shop trucks ever built. Used to tow original Cobra's, Shelby Mustang's and haul parts, the Falcon must have been one distinctive panel wagon. That original sedan delivery created by Brock currently resides at the Shelby Collection musuem. The previous and long time owner of this Falcon spent many years equipping this delivery with a 302 V8, a top-loader 4 speed trans, a 9" Ford rear-end, front disc brakes, rally wheels, a roll bar, full gauges and much more! This Falcon also features a custom leather dash, Falcon Sprint wheel, Stewart Warner and Sun instruments, factory original radio and original shifter with lock-out. Other cool Shelby style parts include Koni shocks, Monte Carlo bar, a custom export brace, sway bars and Shelby LeMans and side stripes. The magnum style rally wheels have what appear to be original Cobra badges as center caps, a GT350 badge on the rear lift gate, Talbot style mirrors and Simpson race type lap belts. This Falcon also has a very nice Vintage Air, AC system installed-fully functional(and using the original Ford knobs as controls), this system cost nearly 2K to install. The 302 V8 has Shelby valve covers, a chrome air cleaner and an alloy radiator. When the Falcon was being built many years ago, the rear wheel openings were radiused and look great. The interior is black and has a fresh set of '66 Mustang seats with custom brackets, the rear seat folds flat, providing a very large rear storage area. This rear portion is carpeted and very nice-perfect for hauling rare Shelby memorabilia! The engine on the Falcon has been recently refreshed with new rings, valve job/seals and a competion cam/lifter kit. It also has a complete new power steering set-up, new alternator and voltage regulator. New chrome bumpers and tires are also on the Falcon. A very nice exhaust system includes dual flowmasters and side exiting exhaust(just like the first Shelby Mustangs). It sounds and looks great. This Falcon runs well and always recieves a lot of attention whenever its driven. It has been at a few Shelby club events and was very well received by the faithful. This car is perfect for the Shelby enthusiast and really is a fun, unique car that looks equally at home surrounded by Cobras at the track or carrying a vintage surf board as the ultimate "woody" wagon. Considering the car is now 40 years old, it isn't perfect. The paint is old and has a number of chips, some cracks, fading, etc. The owner touched it up over the years and it certainly has "patina", even down to the hand painted flame design around the Shelby gas cap. Eveyone that has seen the car says to just leave it as is. The interior is in very good condition, but the carpet is showing some wear and some of the weatherstripping should be replaced. The shift boot also has a split in it. While the bumpers are new, some of the other chrome shows some wear. The Falcon runs well, the top loader shifts great and all the fluids have been recently changed. Tons of documentation and records come with the Falcon. Some spares as well.
