Vehicle Detail

This is a really nice Audi. It's an older style Audi, from before they started looking like really angry razor blades. :) It's a classic! It's the predecessor of the A4, and the A4 actually uses the same basic engine, transmission, and rear suspension as this car. I used this car to commute to school, and for trips to Lake Tahoe. Just when I have it cleaned up and sorted out, I need to sell it to pay off bills! I wish I could keep it. It's black with black leather interior (cream colored headliner and pillars). The front seats are sport seats with larger bolsters, and are super comfortable. The rear seats fold down 60/40 split to provide more cargo space. All seats are black leather and are in fantastic condition. The interior is in great shape overall - the carpet was steam cleaned and is full and supple everywhere. The dash has no cracks at all. The door panels are clean and in good shape. All of the instruments and switches work. The steering wheel is leather and in good condition - there are some minor scratches on it. The shift boot is perfect. The front floor mats are OK, the rears are perfect. The headliner is sagging down, unfortunately, but I just ignore it. The It has the winter package, meaning heated front seats, ski boot in the rear seat (for skis or long objects AND 4 seated passengers), and the extra gauge pod with 3 gauges in the console. It has a differential lock feature and ABS disable feature for driving in snow or mud. The glass is tinted, done by a PO. There is a factory rear wing, which was optional. The wheels are 15" x 7", the tires are Michelin G019 mud and snow tires, which actually have really good grip in the dry as well as in the snow. They're OK in the rain. I just rotated the tires so the fronts have about 90% left, and the rears have about 50% left. This car eats up the front tires faster than the rear. I bought the tires new in late 2009. All the accessories and gadgets work, like windows, defroster, alarm, etc. The only non-functional thing is the cruise control - it needs a new controller. Also, the sunroof works, but jams in the open position so it takes a lot of wiggling by hand to close it, so I don't use it at all. I had a flowmaster muffler put on, which replaced the rear muffler, and the front muffler was replaced with a resonator. It sounds louder than stock but not obnoxious. I will include the original exhaust system with the car. I had a 2nd cigarette lighter port installed in the center console (right beside the first one) so I could use multiple devices, like my cell charger and a GPS. The knee brace under the steering wheel was replaced with a storage shelf from an Audi 80. The stereo is an old Pioneer casette player, which still works well; I used it with a cassette adapter and my mp3 player. The AC was converted to r134a and it works great - blows cold! I know Audi 90's really well, and I've sorted this one out. All of the typical problems that happen to a 90 have been fixed, and all of the maintenance is up to date. See the list of work below. There are a lot of things that go wrong on 90's but they only happen once. They happen to every 90 out there though! So with this car, you won't need to worry about it. You can buy one of these cars for really cheap, but it's because you'll need to dump a ton of money and time into fixing it - this one is good to go. I've put over 5k into this car, which maybe wasn't the wisest thing to do, but my loss is your gain, if you want a trouble-free 90 that won't cost more than your purchase price for years to come. For some reason, every Audi 90 I've seen needs (or already had fixed) the heater core, fuel level sender, trunk wiring harness, front axles, catalytic converters, ignition switch, and cruise doesn't work. This is beside the normal stuff every car needs, like a timing belts or a clutch! This car is now reliable and headache-free. Unless you work on cars a lot, a 90 like this one is the only one worth buying. Clean title and carfax Engine runs perfectly, starts up every time, I would drive this car across the country. It gets 25mpg highway, if you take it easy. All maintenance and work records All owner's manuals and original factory booklets AC blows COLD! RECENT WORK: new timing belt, water pump, front seals, etc clutch job (flywheel, disc, pressure plate, release bearing, pilot bearing, RMS, mainshaft seal, master and slave cylinders) new front axles new control arm bushings, sway bar drop links, ball joints, tie rod ends new transmission mounts new flowmaster exhaust (you can have the original exhaust too) new heater core fuel level sender repaired new ignition switch new trunk lid wiring harness steam cleaned carpet Front end professionally repainted last year (it was faded and rock-chipped) AC converted to r134a and BLOWS COLD all fluids changed recently PROBLEMS: sunroof jams in open position clearcoat has faded in one spot on roof small crack in paint behind right rear wheel cruise control unit is bad windshield has a crack I was planning a few mods to this car which I won't do now that I'm selling it, but I can sell the buyer all the parts. I have a 5-lug hub set, a larger MAF, and a large throttle body. I am willing to deliver the car myself, depending on how far away you are and if you will pay for fuel. We can work that out after the sale. Here are high resolution pics
