We disabled the Pass Lock system by cutting the yellow wire to the ignition after doing online research and now it starts reliably but the security light stays on all the time (google "GM Passlock" for more information on this) Rear wiper motor needs replaced Driver's heated seat does not work Worn leather on driver's seat Plate behind driver's door handle cracked/damaged Driver's side rear tire is scuffed on the sidewall from rubbing against a curb AC needs a line repaired but was working prior to leak There was recently a vibration in the front passenger side at highway speeds that is most likely from sitting New battery New shocks New fuel pump and filter Lots of tread left on tires We have owned this vehicle for 5 1/2 years. It was purchased from my father who owned it for about the same amount of time before that. It has been well maintained and only driven occasionally over the past 10-11 years. It was our daily driver for about 2 of those years until we had trouble with the Pass Lock system and bought another newer Suburban. Since then we have disabled the Pass Lock and never have any issues with starting.
