2001 Honda XR

2001 Honda XR 80 Dirtbike; second owners since 2007. Comes with extra key, original owners manuals & spark plug removal tool. *All maintenance performed by our local Honda Dealer. It is in very good mechanical condition & usually starts on first or second kick; there are some minor blemishes on the engine but does not affect it in anyway. There are some wear indicators on the plastic, but as you can see from the pictures, not too bad at all. The seat has no tears or cracks or obvious signs of wear (due to minimal usage). Note: the front tire is low on air & may have a slow leak, we are taking it to Honda to install a tube or new tire whichever is necessary. Our son has literally outgrown it in height (over 6' tall in first year of middle school), however it has plenty of power for him. We will be going to a bigger/taller frame bike and will apply the sale of his XR 80 to the new one. I hate to even say this to not sound typical, but the truth is, he has only used it maybe a few dozen times since 2007. It is stored at his Grandparents and when the weather is good & yard isn't muddy & we have enough time, then he is allowed to ride it on their property. Therefore, it hasn't seen a great deal of action and he is a cautious rider, not a risk taker. However with age, he is ready to get more serious. This will make somebody's child very happy for Christmas or just in general. Lots of fun to be had. FYI: Our son was between 10-11 years old when he started riding it (for purposes of other parents trying to gauge what age & size to buy their kids). He rode a 5 hp pull start minibike from age 8-10. If he wasn't so tall, we would keep it a couple more years. Also, please go to your local motorcycle dealers & price a similar rated dirtbike, you would think they are made of gold. The XR 80 is in very good condition and we hate to let it go, but it is just not tall enough for my son. I do not like to buy junk on ebay, nor do I sell junk. The winning bidder/buyer will be happy.
