Vehicle Detail

SWEET, BLACK, 1969 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE...ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA PONY READY TO HIT THE STREETS! The styling of the '69 Mustang Convertible is hard to beat as it takes on more of a muscle car stance then its '65-68 predecessors. This particular '69 spent its entire life in California where it was originally produced in the San Jose facility and delivered to the Los Angeles DSO. We bought this Pony from a gentleman in San Francisco, CA who got the car from a friend of his as a partial trade on a Mach 1 he sold him. We were told that the car had been stored in a barn for about 15 years before receiving a cosmetic restoration 2 years ago. This Mustang has a great stance and a beautiful black body accented nicely with white GT style stripes and a white power convertible top. While this is not a show car it is a fantastic classic Mustang that can be driven and enjoyed and taken to the local shows and cruise-ins. I will do my best to provide enough pictures, a video, and an honest description to help you decide if this Pony should join your stable. Sit back and enjoy! The body of this '69 Mustang Convertible is in beautiful condition and was repainted about 2 years ago. As you will see in the pics the paint has great shine and reflection and the body panels line up very nicely. It appears that the body panels are original although it may have had some minor rust repair to the lower rear quarter panels. This Pony was originally red from the factory but was changed to the Ebony black color you see. Overall the body is nice and straight and there are only a couple of minor flaws along the body that probably will not appear in the pics. Overall the paint quality is very nice and I would call it an above average driver quality paint job. Chrome trim looks very good overall although the strips that go along the back of the convertible top appear to be original and do have some pitting and scratches in them. The convertible top frame itself also shows its age but the Power convertible top works great. Some of the weatherstripping was changed but some still needs to be changed. We have a new weatherstrip for the inside of the trunk that will come with the car. Front and rear bumpers appear to be new. A great looking Hood Spoiler was added as were GT style stripes. The Sport styled side view mirrors are also a nice upgrade. This Pony has a power convertible top that is in very good condition overall and functions nicely. There are some minor signs of wear along the edges of the top and the rear window is showing its age a bit but does not need to be changed as it has plenty of life left in it. The boot cover does not seem to fit correctly so a new one may be needed. This stang has a great stance thanks in part to the close to new 15x8 Magnum 500 Wheels and Brand new BFG Radial TA tires. Take a look at the body of this Sweet Pony: The black interior on this '69 looks great also. At some point the interior was changed from red to the current black and the seat covers and door panels were all replaced and look great. The dash pad looks great with no cracks and the carpeting also looks like it was replaced recently. We added a brand new set of Pony floor mats. Very nice original center console completes the look and style. All of the gauges appear to be working correctly. Take a look inside: This '69 Pony has its original F code 302 2bbl V8 that has been dressed up with Cobra valve covers and air cleaner. The car runs very strong and the previous owner added a new water pump, alternator and new hoses. The odometer reads a little under 33,000 miles and it is believed to have just under 133,000 miles on it. The original C4 Automatic Transmission shifts strong and smooth. Handling and braking are easy with the Power Steering and Power front disc brakes which both function very well. The engine bay is nicely detailed. As you would expect from a dry California car the undercarriage is rock solid including floorpans and torque boxes. The trunk area is also nice and solid. This '69 pulls strong and sounds great thanks to a newer dual exhaust that offers a great muscle car rumble exiting factory style dual exhaust tips. Have a look: HERE IS A SHORT WALK AROUND VIDEO: Hopefully the pictures and videos have shown you just how nice this 1969 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE is.
