Vehicle Detail
Here's a great project or parts truck for you 67-72 fans. It's a 1971 F-250 Camper Special. It was bought brand new at Ernie Haire Ford in Tampa. It still has the original Florida tag from 1971 that is included with the truck. This truck has a 360-V-8 that was running good w/ no leaks or issues but now it won't start. I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is shot. It also has factory A/C that was recently working but it loses charge. It has an automatic transmission, dual battery provision, dual gas tanks (the second tank is not hooked up but it's all there), built in tool box in the bedside, power steering and power brakes. The truck resided in Florida it's entire life and the salt air caused some rust issues around the drip rails of the cab and along the seem on the bedsides and a little bit in the hood and fenders. There is zero rust underneath. I will walk you around the truck and tell it as I see itExteriorHas been repainted, the colors were close but not exact. Most of the aluminum moldings are in good condition, the emblems are a little rough. The bed floor is in good shape and the tailgate is in really good condition. It has a custom heavy duty bumper and the tires are like new. the mirrors on the sides are pretty decent, it looks as if the truck was kept up with most of it's life. No signs of accident damage. InteriorIt's really original and it's a little dirty. The floor covering is missing, there is some minor rust on the passengers side floors and in the front cab corners. All of the A/C is there. The seat has been recovered, the headliner trim is loose and something in the steering column is stripped so it's a bear to turn. The interior needs some work. MechanicalIt was running and driving pretty well, it currently doesn't start for some reason. No engine leaks and the transmission shifted fine. It was actually well maintained mechanically through the years. It has an aftermarket tranny cooler installed. OverallThis truck is very original and it does need some TLC or if you want to have a really heavy duty weekend warrior for trips to Home Depot, this would be the truck to have. It's really not too far gone to have some use and I'm sure a few good hours of tinkering and fixing would go a long way. It has some good things going for it such as the bed, tailgate and toolbox is all in pretty good conition for a 40 year old truck and mechanically it seems to be well cared for. I am offering this truck at absolutely no reserve. Highest bidder gets it. It also has a ton of good parts on it for a restoration of another truck. I can help with shipping arrangements.
