This 1979 Mercedes 300D is one of the nicest i have seen in a very long time,,it was bought new in Tampa FL. and i got it from the 2nd owner who was neighbors with the first owner,,this was his 2nd car and it stayed in the garage alot! this diesel Mercedes comes with all of the books,,the original window sticker where it was bought new @ Percision Mercedes in Tampa,,it also comes with the most extensive set of service records i have seen in a long time! This is a great running 300D that has been very well maintained,,it runs great,,it shifts smooth and all of the power equipment works well,,there are no mechanical issues or fluid leaks,,my shop told me it needs an a/c vacume servo,,which controls the vent directions and switches from heat to cold,,its in the defrost heat mode now and will not switch until that is replaced,,the central locking system works well,,the original radio works well as does the power antenna,,all of the power windows work good,,the power sunroof works good too,,this car does not run hot,and it has Great oil pressure(check the gauges),,the MB Tex interior is in amazing condition for a car of this age,,the carpets,headliner,door panels,seats and wood trim all look real nice,,the dash has 3 very small cracks which is very common down here in this heat,,the center console looks nice,,the map pockets are good,,it even has the original first aid kit in the back! they just dont get much nicer than this inside! The paint looks to be an older repaint (Fla.sun),there is no rust,dents,or damage on this car,,the undercarridge is all good,,the bottoms of the doors are all good,,the floor pans are good,,the trunk is very clean and solid,,there are a few tiny paint chips showing some minor surface rust starting,,there is also a small ding on the drivers front fender and a few scratches,,overall look is very good! it comes with a nice shine and finish,,all of the chrome trim is intact and looks good,,all of the lights look good and work properly,,the painted hubcaps are real nice and the radial tires have about 75% treadlife left,,the engine compartment is clean and free of any leaks,,im Huge fan of these Mercedes diesels,,and they are getting harder to find in good condition,,this is probably one of the nicest i have seen in a few years!
