1971 Datsun 240Z - NO RESERVE! Up for sale is my 71 240Z. I bought it locally not too long ago to do an easy restoration. I've owned and restored many Z cars and overall this vehicle is in very good restorable condition. With even a minor amount of cosmetic and mechanical work it could be a driver. (Not a pretty one but a driver none the less) It was believed to be restored about 18-20 years ago as per the previous owner then it sat for 2 years before I purchased it. It was last registered on the road in 2010. Since I've owned the vehicle I've started to go through it to get it running and driving. All new fluids, tune up items, clutch master cylinder and brake components were replaced to get it in good running condition. It runs great and drives just as good. The engine has definately been out before and looks to have some performance upgrades. Overall the drive train is in good condition. Cosmetically it is in decent condition for a 71' 240. Structurally sound/frame rails/sub frame areas are in good condition. The major rust on the driverside rocker panel in a small section and a small patch on the floors which you can see from the pictures. Not terrible by any means. Other rust areas are on the bottom of the front fenders and some bubbling and surface rust here and there. Overall a VERY, VERY restorable vehicle. Pictures tell the story as far as the rust goes. Overall the car needs to be restored and is a project vehicle. It has not been hacked at or disassembled and mostly all there minus some small interior items. I'm selling the car to fund another project that has gone over budget. I've realized I can't keep them all and would like this vehicle to go to someone that can give it the care it needs to be enjoyed once again. Here are some specs: Engine block number: L24 122758 Head: E88 5spd manual transmission Upgraded suspension: Huge front and rear sway bars, high rate springs and struts Twin SU Carbs Performance Header (Believed to be MSA brand. Needs new gasket, has a leak) Interior is in fair to rough condition Exterior was originally red and painted black at sometime Exterior has rust however nothing major for its age and miles Structurally in excellent condition Engine was overhauled at some point with a performance rebuild. Runs greats, no smoke or leaks. (No proof.
