Vehicle Detail
Let me start this out by saying, this is a very nice truck! It's a 1983 Ford F-100 Flareside. 1983 was the last year for the F-100 model, from 1984 on the F-150 was the entry level F-series. This truck is in great condition for the year and everyone that sees it, goes nuts over it. Here is a video of the truck featuring a complete walkaround with engine runninghttp://youtu.be/oNcjEp02N_QIt features a 300 6cyl which runs like a champ, 4 spd. manual transmission, Factory A/C, Factory flareside bed, chrome grill and bumpers, cloth seat, radio delete, power steering and power brakes. This truck has been well cared for through the years, I see absolutely no previous accident damage, no significant rust of any kind and it drives great. Whomever had it took care of it cosmetically as well. It's not perfect but for a 29 year old truck, it's in great condition. I will give you a description of the truck exactly as I know it. ExteriorIt has been repainted once but it was a good job and the two tone is very well done. It has some minor rust on the cab corners and rockers and a couple of other random dime sized spots here and there. It appears to have always been a southern truck and kept in a garage. The front grill and bumper are near perfect, the doors and fenders are perfect, the bed panels are rock solid and straight. One taillight has a small crack, the tires are about 50% or less worn. It has new headlights, front marker lights and a nearly new grill emblem. The wheels are nice factory F-150 wheels with painted red line trim rings and new center caps and chrome lug nuts. It has some nicks and scratches but it's very very presentable. I would rate the exterior a strong 8 out of 10InteriorVery very nice for age and mileage. Rubber floormat and drivers side of seat have one tear. The door panels are repainted but they don't quite match the original color but look great. The dash is cracked but has a brand new carpeted dash mat. The gauges, steering wheel, seat belts, visors are all nice. The weatherstipping is in good condition. The windshield is cracked and there is some minor wear in the center of the seat. Overall, I would rate the interior an 7 out of 10MechanicalStarts up and purrs like a kitten. You don't even have to touch the gas to start it. Shifts great, drives great, brakes work perfect, front end and steering is nice and tight. A/C works good but loses charge if it sits for a period of time (converted to R134A). The smog pump is frozen up and doesn't have a belt. The gas gauge works randomly (needs a new float) and the temperature gauge needs a new sending unit. It won't win any races but these are some of the best engines Ford ever made and this has the infamous "granny gear" transmission for pulling power. The driveline on this truck is in great condition overall, I would rate it a 7 out of 10. OverallThis truck is a true survivor in every respect. It appears to have had an easy life with caring owners. It's just a really nice all around truck. Would make a great cruiser or weekend truck that's unique and very collectible. It could be restored to perfection with minimal effort and money but it could also be used just the way it is for years of enjoyment. This era of Ford trucks is in my opinion one of the best of all time and this one has the legendary drivetrain and throughback look of a much older truck with the flareside bed option. The radio delete alone is a fairly rare item. Overall I would rate this truck an 7.5 out of 10 Please feel free to call me at 941-720-0300 with any questions you may have. I can help with shipping arrangements. I strive to keep a good feedback rating and I've described everything to the best of my knowledge. Truck is sold as-is, so please ask questions and I will do my best to answer them as promptly as possible. This is a no reserve auction, thanks for looking and as always....Happy Bidding! On Nov-23-11 at 19:16:41 PST, seller added the following information: I wanted to add that the windshield is cracked, I forgot to put that in the description and it doesn't show in the pics or the video. Just wanted to make everyone aware of it. Thanks
