Vehicle Detail

Up for sale on here on Ebay and for your consideration is a beautifully restored 1956 Austin-Healey 100-M BN-2 Le Mans. This car was carefully and thoughtfully upgraded during it's recent ground-up restoration to full Le Mans specification. These upgrades include high compression pistons with high lift camshaft, H6 1 3/4" carburetors on special inlet manifolds, cold air box with trunking, louvered hood with Le Mans regulation leather hold-down strap, and rare period aluminum- finned valve cover. Additional features include period aftermarket restored hardtop as well as a correct softtop. The BN-2 was an improved version of the BN-1 3-speed car, and offered a proper 4-speed with overdrive gearbox along with better brakes. Total production amounted to approximately only 4,000 units, including "M"s. This vehicle has been freshly restored recently, and has covered about 600 miles since it's proper, correct, extensive, total ground-up restoration with photographic documentation. This vehicle was stripped down to the bare chassis and sandblasted to bare metal, leaving nothing to chance. From there it was painted and built back up into a rolling chassis and all worn components were renewed. Full, expensive bodywork and paintwork was performed on all exterior body panels, and the car was beautifully finished in the exciting Le Mans signature two-tone color scheme of Black over Reno Red.Most all chrome items were renewed or replated. A new rubber kit was installed. It is understood that all mechanical components were overhauled or rebuilt including engine, transmission, driveshaft, brakes, suspension, steering, etc. New tires were fitted on correct, restored 48-spoke painted wire wheels. The fuel system was restored and a new exhaust system was fitted. A new wiring harness was installed, and all electrical components were attended to. The interior trim on the car was completely renewed including reupholstered front seats, new panel kit, new carpet kit, new softtop with matching tonneau cover, and new trunk lining kit in correct armacord material carefully dyed to match the trim color. The dashboard facia panel was expertly painted in the proper paint scheme, and a new steering wheel was fitted. The period correct aftermarket hardtop was restored, and is a very useful and attractive bonus accessory. This car is sold with a BMIHT certificate,a photo album documenting it's complete proper rebuild, original owner's workshop manual and driver's handbook, wooden knockoff wrench, and Le Mans registry certificate.Overall, this is an excellent opportunity to purchase one of these attractive and exciting Big Healeys as they are viewed upon favorably in this current market with it's Le Mans upgrades and rare period equipment. It has been nicely restored to an excellent standard, and represents good value for money. It has been authentically restored in correct colors, and given the price of a donor car and it's restoration costs, this offering would be hard to match. Please call Kurt Tanner for any questions to be answered or more information@ cell 909-241-1051 or work 909-920-9221. The reserve is sensibly set for the current market. Thank You for your interest and Godd Luck bidding. On Nov-20-11 at 20:54:35 PST, seller added the following information: This car started life out of the factory as a genuine original BN-2 4-speed car , and was upgraded to full Le Mans specification during it's recent ground-up restoration (2010), as stated in the second line of the description. It can now be called a 100-M or Le Mans Modified car, as alot of cars in this state of tune are loosely and largely considered. It was converted with a mixture of some genuine and some aftermarket parts and components. I am not presenting this car as a factory-built genuine 100-M, one of the 640 produced, as then I would be asking $50,000-$60,000 for it NEEDING A TOTAL RESTORATION, and about $125,000-$160,000 in this FULLY RESTORED condition. It's full specification and looks are equal to that of a genuine factory-built car, and it's membership in the Le Mans registry is for a documented, converted car. I hope this clarifies the heritage and history of the above car, as it represents exceptional value in this current market.
