Vehicle Detail

I have pics and a short video here: www dot flickr dot com / photos / fury58fever It is with a very heavy heart I list this 1987 Buick Grand National. I just bought this car a little over a month ago in Ocala, Florida and drove it back to Brunswick, Ga. It has an aggressive cam in the engine, Kenne Bell performance spark plug wires, Walbro in tank electric fuel pump, Kenne Bell Stage II turbocharger, a test pipe (no catalytic converter), performance exhaust with a Flowmaster dual in, dual out muffler, "hot chip", headers, a new starter and alternator, and I am sure I am forgetting some things. Just bought a AC Delco Mass Air Flow sensor off a low mile car. You can't get those anymore, and the Autozone made in China stuff is not reliable. Car is insanely quick! (My Fiancee has a Hemi-Challenger with a Cat Back exhaust and Cold Air intake, and I believe this car would beat up on it). Here are the pros:*I am the second owner of this car. I have the original "Warranty and Owner Assistance Information" booklet, along with the Owners Manual with the original owners name and dates on them. The car was bought brand new at Reichard Buick in Dayton, Ohio showing 19 miles at the time. The owner moved to Ocala, Florida in 1998, and the car came with him. I still have the title in HIS NAME. I was going to make the car 100% roadworthy before registering it. *1987 was the last year of the Grand Nationals, and the last of the rear wheel drive Regals PERIOD. *Very highly collectible and sought after.*This car is weathered, but is very complete, and is not missing any hard to find items.*Running gear is VERY STRONG!*3.8 Liter SFI Turbocharged and intercooled engine acts like any other V6 when driven casually.*Acts like a Banshee on cocaine when you put your foot down.*Plenty of power, and won't kill you at the gas pump.*200-4R transmission shifts very well.*3.42 Geared rear end is very strong, and Posi-Trac unit is tight and works well. (As I found out by accident on the way home).*Power windows and locks work like they should, MAP lights work, underhood light, and back up lights all work. Factory radio works.*Has the Kenne Bell under bumper air scoop to get more air to the Intercooler and air filter. *Has the "Premium Sound" package. Here are the cons:*Being driven in those Ohio winters, through the salt and the snow were not kind at all to the body. The quarters, doors, trunk lid, rocker panels, floor pans, and trunk pans all have rust, as does one spot above the drivers window. *After getting the car into my shop, I noticed a fuel leak under the back of the car. I have looked under the car and have noticed that someone "cobbled up" steel brake lines and compression fittings and ran them along side the rusted factory fuel line. I would recommend replacing the fuel tank, sending unit, the entire supply line, and filter before attempting to drive it. The leak went from a minor one to a major one very quickly, and I believe the sender has a hole in a line. *Interior is all there but very badly weathered. Needs front seat covers, upper door panels, headliner (the board is there, but the cloth is MIA).*Speedometer cable is broken. I used my GPS to stay out of jail on the way home. This also renders the cruise control INOP.*A/C compressor clutch is going out, I have just unplugged it.*No rear speakers. Front ones don't sound very good. I have wanted a Buick Grand National since I was a young boy (Fixing to be 35 in a little over a week). I hate to sell this one, but I am in need of cash to help out with the new home, and get caught up on bills that have been piling up on me. I had intended to buy a solid "little old lady" Regal and swap the good body with this one and make everything perfect in the process, but it is selfish of me to try to hang on to it when I have so many other responsibilities that need met first. Maybe with a lot of hard work and a little luck I will have another one some day. I hope the person that takes this car home with them can love and respect it for what it is and what it represents. This car is just plain "Bad to the bone"! Thank you for looking at this auction, and best of luck bidding! I require payment within 7 days of the auctions end. Car can be stored up to 30 days, unless prior arrangements have been made with me first. Towing is VERY STRONGLY RECOMMENDED due to dangerous fuel leak in close proximity to the exhaust system. On Nov-18-11 at 14:18:44 PST, seller added the following information: I have the other two 15" Wheels like the ones pictured on the front of the car, and the center caps for them. They are the wheels and caps only, no tires. The gray primer spots in these pictures have been primed black, and the car looks a bit better now. On Nov-22-11 at 04:22:33 PST, seller added the following information: Reserve has been met, top bid owns it!! Good luck everybody, and thank you for all of the questions and comments!
