'88 Saleen Mustang for sale. #88-322. 116k miles. Red/tan interior, gold stripes, 5 speed, rare 16x7/16x8 gold mesh wheels, optional 3.55 rear from Saleen. 1 of 5 with these options. Bought from the 2nd owner 5 years ago and had it shipped from California to DC. Has all the original Saleen parts except for the shift knob (previous owner threw away...), radio (thought I had it, will look for it, came with a Pioneer CD player), and floor mats. Have original front Saleen car bra (currently off). Original rear shocks are in boxes (bottom poly bushings wore out and they rattled), cheap Monroes on for now. Mods include a Moroso cold-air intake, Crane HI-6 ignition amplifier, C&L 76mm mass air and intake tube ('88 Cali cars had mass air from the factory), Explorer/GT40 intake, Crane 2040 cam (same as E cam), Crane Cobra 1.7 roller rockers, Ford Racing aluminum driveshaft, Energy Suspension poly motor/trans mounts, Kirban adj fuel pressure regulator, new 155lph fuel pump, MAC 1 5/8" equal length shorties and 2 1/2" off-road H-pipe into the original Saleen/Flowmaster 2-chamber cat-back, BBK clutch quadrant and cable, Ford HD clutch kit (5k on it), and underdrive pullies. Brakes have 5k on them (done with clutch by previous owner), tires have 3k. Never wrecked, paint is ok but faded, has a few dents typical of the mileage, but polishes up nice. LF corner of bumper is scuffed (friend nicked it with a trailer, not a good night), see pic. Interior is ok but front seats will need to be redone (covers on them now), needs new carpet also. A/C is all there but needs new seals and recharged. I rebuilt the heads with new valvesprings and replaced the head gaskets, but there is a small oil leak at the front of the intake, car runs very strong though. Needs heater core, RF ball joint (squeaks over bumps), coolant temp gauge sender, drivers side door lock actuator (common). Missing wheel lock key (should be easy to get locks off). Speedo cable has also just started making noise, but will include new cable to fix, speedo still works fine. Would be a good resto project that you could still drive around. Selling because I'm getting out of the game for a while and moving on to other things, and this has to go. Buyer to arrange all shipping. Seller reserves right to end auction early.
