Vehicle Detail
1979 Red Trans Am This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION. It’s a great opportunity to get an American Classic that looks and runs great, at whatever the End Bid Price is! This red 1979 Trans Am is an original 400 four speed. It has an upgraded A/C system that works great. The interior (which was at one time a tan color) has been re-done in black. The front seats have been custom-made in black and red with a Pontiac logo. The original seats and all other original parts that came with the car when I purchased it will also go with this sale...see below. The headliner may need to be replaced. The car runs and drives well but the engine has not been dialed in since the rebuild and may need a tune-up. Since buying this Trans Am 5 years ago, I have done many upgrades. I have spent $8,000.00-$9,000.00 rebuilding the engine and up-grading the transmission. I recently had the front and back bumpers stripped and re-painted and they look great. As for the rest of the car, it has what may be the original 33 year old paint job and is in need of a new one. There is only minimal surface rust and it doesn’t have trunk rusting commonly seen in t-top vehicles. I also have the receipts totaling about $7,000.00 (front end, brakes, bushings, power steering hose, upper control arms, etc.) to show the work done that does not include the machine shop work that went into improving the engine…please see below. This car will be sold as-is to the highest bidder. If you would like more pictures or more information on this car, please ask before you bid. You are also welcome and encouraged to have a mechanic of your choice check out the vehicle. Again, this car is being sold as-is and will have to be picked up within seven days of the end of the auction. If you would like to use Pay Pal, the fee for that service will be added on to the purchase price. A non-refundable deposit of $600.00 is due 24 hours after the auction ends.
