Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1953 Packard Patrician. This car is a 100% complete and rust free car that runs drives and stops. It has the 327 ci. Packard Thunderbolt flathead straight 8 motor with the original Carter 4 barrel carberator.Packard Thunderbolt is proudly cast across the entire top of the head of the engine and much of the gold paint is still on the motor and manifolds. The whole engine compartment is complete, even the original glass wiper cleaner jar, clean and all parts and wiring look great and to be in very good condition. When I bought the car I was lied to and told, put a battery in her and she would run.Well after a new water pump, had the starter rebuilt, cleaned the carb jets it run.It was running rough so I took compression readings and all cylinders were up to full compression and within 5 lbs except the 5th back and it read 0.I suspect either stuck or burnt intake valve.I changed the oil and put a quart of Mystery Oil in it in hopes that it would free the valve but it hasn't freed up as of yet.The gas tank is in great shape and clean in fact the whole underside of the car is as clean as the outside of the car.The underside of the car is in great shape showing no signs of rust. The electrical system is in great shape also with nice bright lights and all blinkers, park lights, brake lights, backup lights, and headlights respond quickly and brightly.Everything works on this rig except the radio doesn't play but the power antenna sure goes up and down like it should. The radio is the wonderbar type and the needle moves with the bar and I have heard some cracking and buzzing. The gauges all work fine and the heater will run you out.The doors all close like butter, with just a slight push. The door strikers are chrome and show no sign of ware.Glass is all good except for a crack at the top corner of the flat passenger side window and they all roll up and down smooth and easy. The outside of the rig is really straight with a couple of minor dents. Both front fenders have been changed and show spots filled that was for a different trim package. The bright work is complete and mostly in great shape with a couple of pieces that will have to be restored, but are very restorable to show quality. The interior is all intact including all trim and handles.upholstry is all there but of course needs redone. You'll notice that the car has the nice windshield visor and the chrome side window rain guards and all 4 hubcaps. All and all,a very worthy old Packard and I don't think you could find a better example to to restore. She is a solid, low milage with just over 73,000 miles and I see nothing that is missing on it. Shipping is up to the buyer to set up.We will assist in any way we can and will store the vehicle in a secure covered place for a reasonable amount of time. We require a $500 deposit via Paypal within 24 hrs of the auctions end and the balance with wire to wire transfer or cash within 7 days of auctions end. We don't like using Paypal for the bulk of the price because of the cost, now over 4%. The only way we would use Paypal for the balance is if the buyer pays the fees. Any questions , call Don @208 353 1972 On Nov-12-11 at 06:31:02 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to add that the car has very good working power steering and also has power brakes that work though they are somewhat spongey and probably needs to be bled, anyway the brakes will need attention.
