Up for auction is a Model KC Dodge Bros.pickup. This was originally sold new in Bloomington, Indiana. In 1946, the 2nd owner, a machinist for Reeve's Pulley Company in Columbus, Indiana purchased it on his lunch break. It was driven daily for 26 years until retirement in 1972. That owner's wife was taking a load of produce to market when her water broke with her third child in the front seat in 1952. Being on a farm, it was used daily for hauling calves, hogs, corn, etc. The gearing is low (1 of 5 offered) due to the owner living in the hills of Brown County, Indiana. The son and current owner inherited the truck from his Dad. The son has done a fantastic job of restoring the truck. It is a full frame off restoration done in 2000. The color on it is a Dodge Ram white done in 2000 with a hint of pearl. All the numbers are matching on this truck. I was offered the opportunity to list this for the owner. I have been at his house for the past four weeks, helping him with a variety of things. Over this time I have looked at this truck closely. It is absolutely beautiful and perfect. This is a no rust vehicle. The door jams are perfect. If you look at one of the pictures of a door panel, you will see at the bottom how the steel sheathing is lipped over the inner door, which indicates to me that there is no Bondo. I have been in and around restoring cars since I was 9 years old and I know what to look for. I have taken 1st place in many shows with a large variety of different vehicles. Over that time I have never seen one of these trucks. This truck, in this condition, would make anyone proud, in a museum or to tool around town. I have listed several vehicles in the past. There will be a reserve on this truck. I know there will be those who call me and ask about the reserve and what I will take for the truck. For now, this truck is up for aution.
