Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Two-Door. This vehicle is owned by the AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania (a nonprofit museum dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of transportation history). We have had the car on display and in storage for the last three years. We recently brought it back to life with a new battery and fresh gas. It is available now to the highest bidder with a reasonable opening bid and no reserve. The car is not for sale outside of eBay and the auction will not be ended early. All proceeds from this sale benefit the Museum. This vehicle was last registered for the road and regularly driven about three years ago. It is mostly original but has had at least one repaint and an aftermarket radio. It runs well and the transmission, brakes, suspension seem fine. It was driven to the Museum three years ago (several hundred miles) but we have not taken it off the Museum grounds. Some of its options include a tan vinyl top, plush interior, power moon roof, power windows and power brakes. Overall, the car is in fair to good condition. The finish is decent but shows normal wear and there is a small bubble in the driver’s side roof and minor bubbling on the trunk. The wire wheels, brightwork and trim all are good. The interior shows wear but no major damage. We do not have an itemized list of each electrical component, but most were checked and found to be functional. In particular, the power moon roof works – the power trunk does not. The underside of the car shows surface rust over most areas and components. Most is not too bad. There appears to be one area that has a minor hole. The spot is illustrated by one of the photographs. The Oldsmobile is accurately represented in the photographs and descriptive listing, but interested parties are encouraged to ask questions and/or schedule a personal inspection. This vehicle is offered as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. It has a valid Pennsylvania title which will be transferred to the new owner upon successful completion of the transaction. Shipping and transportation of the car are the responsibility of the new owner. We will gladly work with you or the shipper/transporter of your choice to coordinate the move. The new owner will have two weeks from the completion of the auction to pick up the vehicle unless other arrangements are made in advance. If the car is not picked up within this time frame (and other satisfactory arrangements are not made), the Museum reserves the right to charge a storage fee for the vehicle based on the local going rate. Payment may be in the form of cash, money order or cashier’s/bank check.
