Vehicle Detail
This is a 1999 Volkswagen New Beetle GLS Turbo hatchback with a 5 speed manual transmission. It includes almost all of the original factory options, including: - alloy wheels- power moonroof- side air bags- heated front seats - heated mirrors- leather seating - leather shift knob trim - leather steering wheel cover - compact disc changer (included but no longer installed because it didn't seem to work) The tires are relatively new with around 5,000 miles on them and the brakes were replaced at that point as well. The car gets a consistent 31 MPG in combined driving and does not use any oil. If you are looking for the PERFECT TOW CAR to use with a RV or Motorhome, this is it! It already includes the following modifications for towing: - Blue Ox towbar baseplate, frame-mounted and hidden behind the lower grill - This will work with Blue Ox tow bars as well as other brands such as Roadmaster using adapters- Built-in tow wiring uses the vehicle's own lights via a standard 4-wire connector- Bra to protect the front of the car- Daytime running lights disabled to allow for towing without draining the battery- 3 keys to allow for one to be left in the ignition while towing and still have the normal spares Overall this car is in nice condition considering its age and mileage (most of which were highway miles). However, there are a few functional issues: the radio only seems to work on FM, the air conditioning seems to work intermittently, and the passenger side window only rolls down halfway. There are also a few cosmetic issues. There is a light crease in the passenger door about 1 foot long that didn't even break the paint; this is visible in the photos. There are light scratches all along the right side of the car that I couldn't get to show up in the photos; I think the previous owner may have had some shrubs that caused this. There is also a place on the window side of the back of the driver's seat where the fabric has been rubbed off; this is visible in one of the photos. Since this car is easy to tow, we will gladly deliver it anywhere in the Continental US for $1.00 per mile (as calculated by Google Maps), or the buyer can arrange their own shipping or can pick it up locally.
