1965 FACTORY MADE FORD CONVERTIBLE IN RANGOON RED, A TRUE SURVIVOR! LOW LOW RESERVE. See 98 photos at : http://s1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc514/1fool4music/1965%20Ford%20Thunderbird%20Convertible/ or go to photobucket.com and search 1fool4music. I have an album there with the pics. This car is not a show queen, but does run and drive. She is already a head turner, and with some TLC, she could be a real show stopper. I am offering the car here on ebay just like it is, and if someone doesn't buy it, I will restore it and offer it for sale again with a much higher reserve. My friend is a small town car dealer. An older guy came in last week to buy his grandaughter a 2003 Mustang. He traded the car in on the Mustang. The car has been sitting in a garage the past 24 years and seldom been used. The mileage, just over 64,000 is supposed to be authentic. Since the engine still has the original paint, and the orginal wiper fluid bag, it likely is original low miles. The interior also looks like that of an original low miles car that has sat. It has some pitting, etc. This is a rare factory convertible. The original color is rangoon red. It has been repainted once 25+ years ago There is very little rust in the car. A little bit of bubbling at the bottom rear of the rockers is all that is showing, the pans are solid, the trunk is solid. A little bit in the driver rear quarter, but very little. This is an Alabama car, no salty roads. I will try to get some pan photos up on photobucket before next weekend. The engine and trans are good. It smokes when you first crank it up for about 10 seconds, then clears up. Blinkers, taillgihts, and headlights work. Power windows work. Quarter windows need switches. I can tell you more about this on the phone. The horn works. The blinker lights on the top of the fenders are not presently working. Likely need bulbs. The interior is in pretty good shape, and with 4 cans of aerosol spray dye, it would look almost good as new. The dash is in good shape, so are the seats. The drivers seat has a couple seam splits but is not worn out. Definitely needs new carpet, available for $159 or less here on ebay. Since it has "sat up" for so long, it needs some TLC. The day I drove it to my garage last week, it ran, drove, and shifted out good. I drove it about 4 miles. The brakes were working fine. However, as of today, they have lost pressure again. The car will definitlely need wheel cylinders, and it is likely that the rubber lines to the cylinders should be replaced. When they age, they often collapse from the inside. Also, the carburetor needs a new accelerator pump gasket. It leaks fuel. It needs new valve cover gaskets (the leak, and cause oil to drip/burn off the manifolds once the engine is warmed up, which in turn causes smoke. This is a very easy fix for less than $20 and takes about 45 minutes to complete. The car is presently running off a fuel cell in the trunk, which is why the top won't go completely down. I plan to install a new gas tank ($200) which I have already purchased, as soon as it arrives. The top will then go down all the way. The old tank was gummed up and nasty. The top is in excellent shape, but missing the interior liner and back window. A new top is $329 on ebay,or just put a new back window in and go for a drive. The top has a new power top motor, which is hooked up, but the hydraulic arms are disconnected. Currently you can raise or lower the top manually. The backup lights and housing are missing and not present The decklid is solid and rust free. The hood is solid and rust free. The antenna is falling down into the fender and needs a new bezel. The glass is all good. It is missing the passenger visor. The top latches securely in place. I think that about covers it. Email questions to fool4music@gmail.com, or call me. If you are bidding, I would like to hear from you before auctions' end, so that I know you are serious. IF YOU LIVE IN A TITLED ANTIQUE VEHICLE STATE: Check with the state before you bid. This is an Alabama car and never had a title. Here, we sell them with a Bill of Sale. I can get it notarized for you. I require a $500 NON REFUNDABLE deposit upon auction completion. I then require the balance to be paid CASH in full, within 5 business days. I WILL NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL FOR FULL PAYMENT UNLESS YOU PAY THE ADDITIONAL 2% FEES. I WILL NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL OR CASHIER CHECKS UNLESS ON A LOCAL BANK WHERE WE CAN VERIFY FUNDS AND CASH BEFORE YOU LEAVE. I CAN ACCEPT YOUR VISA/MASTERCARD IF YOU AGREE TO PAY THE 3% ADDITIONAL FEES. I WILL WAIVE THESE FEES IF YOU BUY IT NOW AND PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD. I am an easy guy to deal with, but there are alot of scams out there. Don't bother trying to scam me, I know what I am doing. I will help get the car to transport for loading, and I will consider shipping to Europe, if we discuss it over the phone prior to auction close. Thanks for bidding, and good luck.
