Vehicle Detail

I'm selling my 1973 Corvette Stingray L82 that has been almost entirely restored. This car has been in my family for over 30 years. It was originally my Dad's until he became ill. I then took over ownership and brought it out to Illinois from California (where it spent most of it's life - always garaged - and has NO rust). I have slowly restored this car to almost new condition. I had the engine rebuilt a few years ago by the best Corvette mechanic in town. When I had it rebuilt, I bored it out to a 383, put on edelbrock heads and changed out the cam shaft. This is the original engine with matching numbers. The doors have been repaneled and the carpet has been replaced. When I replaced the carpet, I had an insulation barrier laid down underneath. I had a CD/MP3 player installed with box speakers and an amplifier because I needed to be able to play decent tunes! The clock is the only gauge that doesn't work. The paint color is a Chevy midnight metallic blue. It is not the original color (which was an ugly gold, IMHO). There are some nicks in the paint and there is minor fiberglass cracking along the headlights which is normal for a corvette this old. Also, a garden cart that was hanging in the garage dropped on the side of the car and chipped some paint on the passenger side. It can be easily touched up, or if you want, I can have it resprayed by my mechanic. I will only pay for these paint repairs if bidding on the car reaches $10,000. And I will only repair the chips on the nose and front passenger wheel well. Otherwise, the car is sold AS-IS. Pictures of the paint chips are listed. The car runs beautifully and is fast and strong. It is a very reliable car. The A/C and heater work. The only interior parts that haven't been replaced are the dash, center console, rear view mirror and steering wheel (and I'm sure other misc parts that I haven't thought of). They do show minor signs of wear. I left some things original because I liked that these things looked aged. If the car needs anything, it's a paint job - and that is discretionary. I didn't paint it in case someone wanted to put it back to it's original color. I have stacks and stacks of receipts dating back years and years. I also have the original owners manual!! This car was loved and proudly driven by my father for years. Below is a list of work I have done to the car in the last five years. Rebuild distributor A Arm Replaced entire exhaust system and mufflers and tail pipes and tips Water pump Tires Entire brake system U joints Control arms – upper and lower shocks Door panels Interior carpet with insulation Engine rebuild w/edelbrock heads and aftermarket cam shaft Transmission rebuilt Front and rear calipers Master cylinder Idler arm Power steering pump and gear box Heater core Right rear wheel assembly Wheel bearings Seats/cushions Fuel pump a/c retro fitted for 134A new radiator Door handles I am selling the car locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. I will happily put the car on transport AT THE BUYERS EXPENSE. It's not difficult to transport a car. I put it on transport when I brought it out from California. Email me if you have any questions and I can give you a call or write you back. Thanks for looking! Please note ********* The woman does not come with the car, but the car will attract more women like her. :)On Nov-04-11 at 12:47:36 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok - so I just got off the phone with my mechanic and he said I made some errors....here they are - 1. I don't have Edelbrock heads. I have vortec heads with Edelbrock aluminum intake. 2. The car is dusty and it makes the paint look worse than it is!! 3. The car was bored and stroked to a 383. 4. A Arm bushings were replaced. Not the A Arms. Clearly, I am not a mechanic, so if you have questions, please let me know and I will consult with my expert!!On Nov-05-11 at 15:20:22 PDT, seller added the following information: *****So sweet!! Ebayer thomp73 has a huge crush on me. He can't stop emailing me. Look, I appreciate your interest, thomp73, but I'm taken and you are just not my type. But, I will let my dad know you love his Corvette. He'll appreciate your admiration.*****
