You are bidding on a nice 1976 Triumph Spitfire 1500 with potential to quickly and easily become a restored classic! This was the first model year when the U.S. version's engine compression ration was increased resulting in a faster top speed of 100 mph and a 0-60 time 1.2 seconds faster than previous Spitfire models. It was traded to us by a local car enthusiast who replaced it with yet another exciting roadster. Vehicle Condition You will find this vehicle is mechanically sound, runs and drives wonderfully; however, the odometer is not operable and we're not sure exactly how many miles it really has. It recently received a new starter and battery installed by the previous owner. The body is almost entirely free of rust and there are some areas where you see the paint has been touched up. From just a few feet away, the paint finish looks even and fresh, despite the original condition. The convertible top needs an inexpensive repair to re-install a rear window panel, but works great otherwise. Inside, you will discover the seats, dash and controls are in great shape. We checked under the carpet to see the condition of the floor boards and both sides are solid.
