CLASSIC--1970 PONTIAC CATALINA "CONVERTABLE" Item being listed "AS IS", with no returns..Please ask questions prior to bidding. Listed for your bidding consideration is my Classic 1970 "PONTIAC CATALINA"...CONVERTABLE. I've had this car for about 7 years, and hate to let it go, but like everyone else, the economy has bitten me in the butt, so it's gotta go...I'm not given it away, but feel what I want is a good price for this type of classic car. HISTORY: My wife and I purchsed this Catalina about 7 years ago, and have driven it to many cruise nites, beach trips, and weekend getaways..It's wintered in my pole barn as soon as it gets too cold for top down driving..It has never let us down mechanically, and is fun, and easy to drive...Turns heads everywhere we go... There were just 3686 Catalina's built in 1970. The body is 218", or 18' long, with a 122" wheel base. Front & rear coil spring suspension...Variable-ratio power steering...The 400cu in engine, with a two barrell carberator produces 290HP, with 428 lbs of torque. The 1970 Catalina was a General Motors full size, rear-wheel drive production B-Body platform car, and discontinued the use of the gas tank filler port behine the license plate after 1970. THE GOOD: Just over 103,000 miles......V8-400 cu in engine..Strong running with no misses or performance issues.....Single barrel Carb.. New ignition parts,(Plugs & wires.)...Automatic Transmission.. No slipping, Passing gear very strong...Over $2000 dollars invested in front end suspension work, by the previous owner. (Drives straight and true, no pulling, or drifting) ... Dual exhaust, with FlowMaster mufflers......Windshield, side window glass, as well as convertable top glass window are in good condition with no cracks. Top goes up and down, although it's slow. No major body dents...No huge cancer areas.......ConvertableTop boot cover and a new set of "Black" OEM front and rear seat covers included with sale. Interior carpet is in good condition... THE BAD: This is not a "Show" Car......It's a decent looking daily driver, that's fun to drive, but will need some TLC....Rear bumper need rechroming, or replacing.....Small areas of body rust.......Paint needs professional attention, either detailing, or repainting. It's faded ......Both back seat passenger side panels need replacing....Fuel guage is slow to read Full....2 years ago, at the end of our summer driving, I noticed a small exhaust leak noise coming from the drivers side exhaust manifold. (Beleive it's a gasket).. I parked it, jacked the car up to repair, and that's where it sits, waiting to get back on the road.. I WILL BE TAKING THE CAR OFF JACK STANDS TOMMORROW, AND CLEANING IT UP SOME, WHILE MAKING SURE THERE ARE NO SURPRISES FOR THE NEW OWNER. THE SEATS WILL NEED TO BE REMOVED, AND NEW FOAM ADDED, PRIOR TO REUPOLSTERING THE SEATS. THIS IS AN EASY JOB...JUST GOTTA TAKE YOUR TIME DOING IT.
