Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 1980 California Camaro Z28 with 66500 original miles. Power steering, power brakes, tilt wheel, cruise control, 8-track, power windows.A/C, T-tops. I am going to describe this car with great detail, so get ready and hang on! This car was bought new in Torrance California from Martin Chevrolet and spent all its life there untill 2009. At that time it came to Louisville, Ky to a fellow that brings in cars from the West Coast for a living. At that time a very good friend of mine purchased the car that lived in Southern Ky. The car stayed there for about one year not driven much. I purchased the car early this year and have driven it a few hundred miles. The first owner of the car kept very good meticulous records of just about everything that was ever done to the car; tune ups, carburator builds, emission test, etc, etc. He had many hand written notes on the back of just about all of them. I have the original build sheet that is in great condition. Possession of these items help to accurately document mileage. The condition of the car: Exterior It has had one repaint in its life in 1994, it's bright blue metallic (closely resembles the 1969 GM Lemans blue). The body is in unbeliveable condition it's very straight and clean with very good body alignment. There are no records of any wreck and all body panels are original. The tailights are very clean and shiny with good color and have very minor stress cracking. The door jambs have the original paint and both are very very nice, clean and brite. The left front fender has a small dent above the marker and below the marker and the hood has a small, golfball sized ding towards the front edge. That is the only damage on the body and they are both very minor. It has a small surface rust spot below the rear glass on the right side (nothing scary at all) and the under side of the deck lid along the very back edge has rust. Those two spots are the only areas of rust on the car. Every where else is super nice including the underside of the entire car. The condition of the car: Interior Inside the car is navy blue vinyl deluxe interior. It's in fantastic shape for its age. The seats, door panels, console, headliner and plastic are supurb. It has the original perforated vinyl headliner. The plastic panels are close to perfect and the seats are beautiful. The carpet is also original but it has a small tear in front of the drivers seat and that is a shame because there is no wear at all on it. All the gauges and lights work, clock dosn't. It has the original am/fm 8 track with the correct original front and rear speakers! It will need a dash cap or dash pad because it has cracks. It will also need a new cardboard package tray and the seam on the visors are comming apart. This car also has the original GM interior door pulls/armrest in great condition and have never been repaired. The power windows work perfectly; tilt wheel is tight. The cruise control in not working but it is all there. The A/C works; the heat is disconneted (perhaps a bad core?). The condition of the car: Drivetrain As is listed 66500 miles and never butchered, all original including California smog; however, it does have new BF Goodrich tires. This may sound funny but I have had many second gen Camaro's and this particular car runs very strong and pulls hard for it to be all stock. It does not smoke, tick, knock, or clunk. It is a very tight driving and handling car with no sloppyness, rattles, or squeaks; it is very quiet and a pleasure to drive! The condition of the car: Trunk The trunk area is perfect. It has the correct spare tire, inflation can and carpet. The trunk floor looks as new as day one and the t-top covers are with it! The last receipt that was with the original owner was in 03/21/09 where he had the a/c compressor and a complete a/c system repair, 65597 were the miles. This 1980 Z28 with a paint job and some attention on the interior will be a stunning car; if you are looking to restore one of these cars this is the one! It will be almost impossible to find another car this clean, this original, and this documented; a non Ricky Racered with low, low miles. Happy Bidding!!! On Oct-20-11 at 15:55:48 PDT, seller added the following information: The stripes were removed when the car was repainted in 94 and never reinstalled. Also if you look in the paper work picture you will see the original set of new GM keys with the original dealer hand written key fob on them. Kinda cool!!!
