Own A Rust-Proof, All-Wheel-Drive German Luxury Sedan Today... ...It Will Take You Through the Worst Snowstorms This Winter and Get You Compliments All Year ‘Round (and will cost you less than a generic economy car) I'm serious about the compliments. I get them quite often and even from folks who could totally afford a newer A8 than this. 7 Reasons You Should Buy This Car: 1) This A8 has been well cared for The previous owner (who bought it new to my knowledge) kept an impressive service history and I’ve continued tending to regular maintenance and repairs while I’ve had the car. I use top quality synthetic oil, replaced the timing belt and water pump on schedule, replaced the drive shaft and associated joints and kept the leather seats smooth and supple. 2) It’s aluminum build means you don’t need to worry about rust The A8 was a bit of a pioneer in the auto industry in that it is made largely of aluminum. Unlike most other cars you won’t have to worry about rust spots popping out this winter due to road salt. 3) It has V8 luxury sedan power but goes easy on fuel Over the entire 64k+ miles I’ve owned the car I have averaged 24 MPG and achieved as high as 29 MPG on a ~400-500 mile long trip at 65-75 miles per hour. Most highway trips with A/C use in the summer will net you ~26 MPG 4) The traction from the Quattro AWD system is amazing If you haven’t driven and AWD vehicle in the snow you’re in for a big surprise driving this car. Even with mediocre tires the traction is impressive but with the Continental snow tires that come along with the vehicle (not currently mounted and used only one season) you’ll do better than many 4x4 trucks can. 5) The interior is luxurious, comfortable and more impressive than many new car interiors I was stunned at the quality and condition of the interior when I first got this car and have kept it in great condition while I’ve had it. You won’t find any cracking or real signs of wear in the leather seats and they are still very smooth and supple. The drivers seat gives you an intriguing cockpit feel at night that you probably haven’t experienced unless you’ve driven a flagship Audi sedan. If you drive this and then step into many brand new domestic cars you’ll instantly feel like the newer vehicle is a downgrade despite the age difference. 6) It should last you for miles to come You shouldn’t be afraid of miles if a cars been cared for and I expect you’ll be able to get well over 100,000 more in this Audi with no problem. Keep the oil changed and the timing belt in good shape and you’re engine should stay healthy. 7) You’ll have room for everything In the photos below I’ve left all the seats in their normal position so the legroom you see in the rear is the actual legroom you will get on a daily basis. None of the deceptive seat-moved-fully-forward tricks here. I’m a bit over 6’ and my wife is 5’ 6” so it’s not like the front seats are set for short folks either! The trunk is also very spacious and has even sides which make filling it easy if that’s what you need to do. You don’t have to work around strange curves in the trunk sidewalls. Small issues to keep in mind: It’s a luxury sedan but it is 11 years old so there is evidence of use which I’ll point out in the photo sectionOther small issues that aren’t visible in the photos are:A torn driver’s side front CV joint boot which has been patched to keep grease in and water outThe front brake pads are aftermarket and thus don’t work with the pad wear detector so the car sometimes warns that the brake pads are worn out. This is not the case! Both front and rear brake systems are good to go for at least 30k more miles in my estimation.Something in the climate control system makes a small clicking noise occasionally depending on temperature and weather. I’ve read this is a common problem with Audi’s and it’s been happening since the day I got the car. It has no apparent effect on the functionality of the heating or cooling systems. As I understand it the problem is that a small electric motor is trying to open or close a flap that is already opened or closed and thus the clicking. When I got the car the driver’s side mirror auto dimming system was not working so I removed the feature since it was clouding the mirror. The mirror is very clear now but does not automatically dim when headlights are behind you the way the rear-view and passenger mirrors do and it’s plastic trim piece is missing as can be seen in the photos.Rims have some curb rash and one wheel is missing it’s center capI tried using the seat memory function once and it moved the seat into position for a 90 year old grandma, much to my wife’s amusement. Being over 6’ tall I wasn’t amused and have not touched the button again so your mileage may vary. I hate moving the seat adjustments so I’d rather let it be. The only other seating adjustment trouble I’ve run into is adjusting the driver’s side head rest up and down. It seems the button does not power it up and down however you are able to tilt it by hand. The fog lights do not seem to work. The dash button indicates they are lit but the bulbs must be burnt. I’ve never felt the need to use them. Good things to keep in mind: The brake system is good to go. I think you should get over 30k more miles out of the pads depending on driving styleThe all season tires installed on the car are less than a year old and have most of their tread life leftThe winter snow tires that are included in the purchase price were only used one season and look nearly newOriginal carpet floor mats are included (pictured below removed from the vehicle)The Xenon headlights really light up the roadGreat Bose speaker systemBoth the front and rear seats are heated (the back of the seat as well not just the bottom) and will warm you up fast in cold weather. I'd love to have you bid or hit the Buy It Now but before you do remember to: Ask first if you have any questionsCheck with first me if you have less than 5 feedbacksReview all the photos as well as ensuring you are ready to make the required deposit Reserve is $5,900 The car is also for sale locally so there is the possibility it could sell off eBay. Mileage may change due to occasional driving. As mentioned in the description you can see the missing trim piece from the driver's side mirror below. Mirror does not auto dim like the rear-view and passenger side mirrors do. Some paint peeling near the rear wheel wells. Good news is that it's aluminum underneath so no rust! The trim piece pictured above popped off at some point the other day and now looks like as you see below. The discoloration you see is in the plastic film adhesive protecting that part of the body panel. Again, it's aluminum construction so it's not rust. This small plastic cover for the tow hook attachment port doesn't like to stay in place. It's attached via a plastic lanyard so it doesn't get lost. Damage to the grille was cause by a small sparrow that swooped too low over the road. Windshield does have a few small chips. They don't interfere with vision and have showed no signs of cracking so far. Here's some of the real beauty of the car. I'm pretty proud of the interior quality and condition! The blemishes you see below are from the first owners mobile phone mount and antenna extension. The original Audi floor mats are included. They are dark navy blue to match the interior of the car but look black in these photos. An unmounted set of Continental winter tires included for snow and ice traction Do you like what you see?
