Vehicle Detail
This is a 1970 D-200 That I purchased 2 years ago the truck came from Utah. The plan was to do a complete restoration but plans change. I own an auto repair shop so everything that was done to the truck was done by ASE certified mechanics. All brake lines and hoses were replaced along with a new master cylinder and power booster and of course shoes and hardware. front suspension was completely redone including king pins, wheel bearings.tie rod ends, drag link and shock absorbers. All tires are brand new. Rear end was opened and inspected the axles removed and all bearings and seals replaced. Air shocks were added to the rear. The transmission was checked and serviced and new seals were installed. We did not remove the engine from the truck but took it all the way down to a short block every thing was inspected cleaned and replaced as needed all new gaskets were used to reasemble it. I did have to replace one exhast valve that is when I found out the engine had 340 heads on it. we installed a new water pump, fuel pump, starter, altenator, carburetor, hoses, belts, harmonic balance wheel and sent the radiator out to be refurbished. I am sure i have forgotten a few things but the bottom line is this truck drives down the road just like it did in 1970. Whats left is body work and paint the majority of the rust you see in the pics is surface rust and will sand or blast off . the worst part is on the floor where the cab mounts are ( very typical for these trucks) there is a littlte rust in the rockers wich happen to be one of the few patch panels available for these trucks. the frame is very solid and as you can see the truck is sporting its original color and wood bed.( no surprises.) The engine in this truck is a 318 from the late 70s at some point someone installed 340 heads on it these are very sought after and could be pulled off the truck and sold for $700.00 But why bother with the duel cherry bombs this truck sounds great and has plenty of get up and go.( I drive it down the highway at least once a week) The transmission is a very strong 727.On Oct-29-11 at 06:14:23 PDT, seller added the following information: If you have been looking to restore one of these trucks this one will save you alot of time and money. Or drive it as is gets great looks when you pass someone on the highway at 75 miles per hour
