Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a very nice, and mostly original 1966 Honda CB160. I believe this is one of the promotional chrome models, due in part to the chrome fenders, and side covers. This bike is in incredible original and unmolested condition, with the exception of the grips, tires, seat cover and tank badges. The miles are original to the bike, with maybe the exception of the last 2-3 miles put on the bike. I replaced the front tire and the speedo cable was seized inside the speedo drive housing. When I pulled it out, the cable end broke resulting in the speedo now being inoperative. Repleat with absolutely incredible mufflers, beautiful patina on the frame and original painted pieces, and a black California plate, this bike doesn't deserve restoration any farther than replacing faded and cracked cables and a chain. They are only original like this once. Some of the chrome, as pictured has some pitting. Some heavier pitting can be found around the rear fender and brake hub hardware. The tank side covers are 8/10 in my opinion. The chrome side covers 9/10. Front fender has some surface rust around the braces, but should come clean with some steel wool. The DID rims are gorgeous for the age. Spokes have some light rust, but easily cleaned and all are tight. I am selling this bike with the original tool kit that is complete with the correct valve adjustment tools. The bike has new plugs, new battery, new front tire and tube (rear is just fine for riding on) fresh oil change, valves adjusted, timing set and carbs removed and completely cleaned and set. Engine is tight and quiet with no leaks, smoke or funny noises. Brakes are ample, but old. Swing arm has no play. Suspension is surprisingly stiff for the age, making it handle pretty well through tight turning at speed. The horn works, hi/low beam work. The starter turns, but very slowly. I've rebuilt them in the past with great success. Easy project for the new owner. See it run here!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPiqkRq3i2M Although this bike has so much going for it, my disclaimer has to say that it is old. It is used and comes without a warranty. Also, absolutely no 0 and negative feedback buyers. Bidders with 20 or less feedback score I ask that you please contact me first prior to bidding. I can and will leave my phone number for any needed discussion regarding this bike. The title is clear, registration has not been paid since 2008. I can hold the bike for an agreed upon amount of time while shipping is being arranged, but the deposit and balance have to be paid in full per the auction terms. In this case, a non-refundable deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours of the auctions end. Full balance due within 7 days. Shipping is up to you, but let me know how I can help. Thanks and good luck.
