1997 volkswagen jetta,i bought this car a while back as a project car for my son but he ended up wanting a truck,so here it is,the previous owner was going to pimp it out and shaved the door handles from the rear doors and the front passenger side door,i left the doors be but doors with handles for this car can be found easily at your local pick a part yard,the car does run good but presently it wont even turn over,when i bought it the car started up and ran good although the lifters needed adjustment because they were ticking,one day i came out to move it and "nothing" it wouldnt even crank over,this is probably a broken wire maybe? i looked it over but couldnt figure it out,the 2.0L 4 cyl engine did run good with no knocks.the transmission shifted good but only at high rpm's,i believe this may have something to do with the previous owner adding a power chip to the car? there is a NEUSPEED "power pack" display plate under the hood stating it has a chip and a sticker on the rear window also the tranny may just need some fluid but im not sure on these foreign cars.most of the body work is done but the trunk and hood will need adjustments and a small section of the top inside fender has been cut away {by the previous owner} why?? there was some body work done at the left rear taillight area. the car is presently sprayed with a flat black paint just to prevent rust.the tires are decent and it has aluminum wheels.also all the doors open properly from the inside,the fromt passenger door has an actuator inside to open the door with an electric switch although i didnt get around to wiring it up.the interior is decent but could use a lite cleaning,the rear trunk lock is missing so it will need a new one....this is a project car that is mostly done and i am selling as is with NO RESERVE!!..email with any questions
