Vehicle Detail
Quick background on the 63 Coupe. I purchased this 63 Corvette in early March 2010 from Corvettes Unlimited in Ozark MO. The vehicle had been stored for approximately 10 years and not driven. My goal was to buy a 63 Coupe and get it to a decent drivers condition. I had no desire to restore the car to NCRS standards due to cost, time, etc. I had the vehicle shipped to my home in Arizona and began the process. Vehicle is a 63 Split Window Coupe, Riverside Red, Black interior. This is non-number matching car. It has a 327 engine, specifically a 67 block, 64 heads and the 365HP intake. It has a recently added Holley carb. Transmission is a Muncie 4 speed. Most C2 Corvettes this age are missing many of their parts. 1963's in particular, have several 1963 specific parts. This car has most of it's correct parts including window trim, mirror, console, glove box, hub caps, etc. ConditionThe car is in good drivers condition. My goal was to get the car running, get the saftey related items working (brakes, lights, turn signals, suspension, tires, alignment) and then move onto paint and details. The interior is in good condition including the console, dash pads, carpets, door panels. All gauges work with the exception of the clock and the radio. Antenna in rear has been replaced. Exterior is fair. From 10-15 feet the car looks fine. Upon close examination you can see several cracks, chips and signs of body work. I had intended to repaint next spring. Headlight motors work (both replaced) along with a complete new lighting wire harness. New headlamp bezels have been installed. All window trim is in place and in good condition. Bumper chrome is fair, but showing it's age. Glass is decent. No cracks or chips but some light scratching on front windshield. Spare tire cover is inplace but no spare tire. Hupcaps are in very good condition. Engine is in running condition. I have replaced the old carb with a Holley/electric choke. I have also installed an electronic ignition. New plugs, wires, distributor cap, coil, resisitor, fuel pump, have been installed. A new Dewitt radiator has also been installed along with new hoses. Engine starts up fine and runs out with no issues. Mufflers are decent, no leaks or issues. Frame and birdcage are in good shape. I have had the vehicle up on a rack several times and the frame is solid and the birdcage looks good. Drivetrain has been completely rebuilt. The main drive shaft, ujoints have all been replaced along with related bushings. The rear end has been rebuilt and reconditioned by BAIRS Corvettes. This includes all rear end components including half shafts, ujoints, bearings, seals, etc. Front and rear drum brakes have been completely rebuilt with new pads, cyclinders, springs, brake lines. All wheel bearings have been replaced. The rear trailing arms have been replaced with new one's from BAIRS Corvettes. New GM springs have been installed front(coils) and rear (leaf). New GM shocks have been installed all around. All other suspension components have been replaced with new Wilcox components, including both upper and lower A arms in the front. Rear differential cushions were replaced. Alignment was completed by Classic Gold in Tempe AZ. New Firestone tires were installed in late June 2010. The car drives straight and stops straight! DocumentationI have ALL receipts for parts purchased during my ownership. Including the alignment, I have invested almost $7K since the purchase in March 2010. THis does not include ANY labor. Also included is the 63 owners manual, shop manual, assembly manual, Nolan Adams restoration guide and several Corvette C2 catalogs and reference guides. Why am I selling? The car has been a blast to work on and to drive. Sadly, I am working too much and just don't have the time to spend either driving or working on the car. It is time to pass this iconic vehicle on to it's next car taker. Title is clear. The detailsThe car is sold as is. There is no warranty implied. A downpayment of $1000 must be made either via Paypal or wire transfer within 24hours after the auction close. The balance must be paid within 7 days after auction close. Payment is in cash or wire transfer only. If you are local or would like to arrange an inspection, you may contact me. This is at your expense. Shipping is the buyers responsibility. I have used Hillbilly Transport as well as DAS Autoshippers in the past. Both are great and can handle shipping anywhere in the US.
