Vehicle Detail
This Classic 1968 Ford N500 1-1/2 Ton Flatbed Truck includes a very strong all-steel diamond plate bed (8’ W x 12’ L) with stake pockets and tie-down edge all around bed; an Eaton 2-speed electric-shift rear axle; a 4-speed manual truck transmission; a very strong 1970 Pontiac 455 engine; a good sized tool box on right side. I have used this truck in my machine shop business for the past 30 years. It has hauled machinery and machine parts all over the country and has yet to let me down. It will do 65 mph – 70 mph on Interstate highways with no problem. Averages around 10 mpg and pulls grades very well with that big long-strokeV8 engine. Old style split-rims have been replaced with modern tubeless tires and rims. Old wheels and tires can go with the truck if you want them- no charge. Due to vehicle age there is no title, just a bill of sale. All routine maintenance, oil changes, etc. have been done in-house to maintain the vehicle readiness and insure proper maintenance procedures were used. This truck is sold as-is where-is and is ready to go anywhere. Overall good condition; no rust; always stored inside our building; mechanicals are excellent; front tires are low mileage, rears are high mileage; drivers side seat/cover/foam needs repair; windshield has some rock chips but none in driver’s line-of-sight; passenger door glass is cracked but completely intact and rolls up/down just fine. Speedometer was never recalibrated after the 2-speed rear end was installed so reads low; same with the odometer. Actual mileage is estimated at around 147,000 to 150,000 miles.
