RESIDENTS OF MICHIGAN TAKING DELIVERY OF THIS VEHICLE -
Michgian requires the payment of sales tax (6%). Other fees are a DOC fee of $75.00, title fee and transfer or purchase new plates. It is required that you provide a proof of insurance on the vehicle you are purchasing.
NON-RESIDENT OF MICHIGAN TAKING DELIVERY OF THIS VEHICLE -
If you pickup your vehicle and drive it from Witt Buick, the state of Michigan requires us to collect Michigan sales tax unless the vehicle will be titled and registered in one of the following exempt or non-reciprocal states:
Alaska, Delaware. Montana, New Hampshire, Oregon, New Mexico, Arkansas, the Distict of Columbia, Maryland, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Dakota and West Virginia.
All other purchases are assessed a Michigan Sales Tax - not to exceed the sales tax charged by the state where the vehicle will be titled and registered - up to a maximum of 6%. Buyer will be solely responsible for any additional sales tax owed to their home state (ie: If your state charges 7% sales tax on vehicle purchases, we will collect 6% Michigan Sales tax and you will owe an additional 1% to your state when you register your vehicle - or - If your state charges 5% , we will collect only 5% Michigan Sales tax .)
A reciept will be provided to buyer for proof of sales tax amount paid.
Other fees are a DOC fee $75.00 and a 15 day In-Transit plate.
If you are having the vehicle shipped by a registered hauler, you will not be required to pay Michigan sales tax or purchase the In-Transit plate.
It will be your responsibility to title and plate the vehicle in your own state.
